Anyone ventured to try these for headlights? Will they be reliable enough?

I think I read somewhere here that someone did this. A lot better and cheaper than those "LED" angel eyes which cost AT LEAST double the price. Not to mention brighter!

I was going to order this before I will get my car but the 2011 e92 will already be LEDs.

Edit: Found the link check next post

I was trying the DDM kit, but I think to make them work Pn'P you need 12v.The OEM AE output is about 5v?. I have the DDM kit slim with 10000uf cap in my fogs so they are not that bad!!

I'm a little confused then. How did everyone else get them to work if you need 12v but we only output 5v with the OEM.

To be honest, I have no idea how they get them to work. I guess that either running an extra 12v from outside (headlight housing) or maybe a resistor to increase/decrease the output/input?

note:IDK how to make the DDm kit work Pn'P, others kit comes Pn'P ready.

Maybe someone can give some input here...

i'd use the 3M double sided tape with the red backing and make sure to prepare the area with alcohol or something, I've had these ballast come off with the tape that was included most likely cause they are so big

Dammit, this is exactly what I was thinking. I don't trust the sticky pads and the ballast is so damn beefy it would probably be a matter of time before they came loose.

Haha, how the heck did I my kit before you? Do you mind doing a write-up w/pics of your install? I'll throw some pics up of my install if I get the tape today...

haha, it's because I hadn't ordered it then. I've been doing some other stuff. In a few months I'll start posting up some interesting things (after warranty is up!).
