We call you the uneducated.... these intakes have proven to make power and lower Waste gate duty cycles (which is a huge concnern in the tuning world among other things)....

See Mr.5's thread, which is unbiased.

+1

I don't know why so many people go for the DCI when a new drop-in filter will do a fine job and be even more convenient to install.

because the stock airbox has been proven to be restrictive at higher then stock boost levels Its not the filter but the box that its in. A drop-in helps but if you are pushing 14-16psi you want an open element filter.

I love my DCI intake - I was giving kilpse a hard time - everyone knows that arguing the cold v. warm on the N54 is a waste of time. The air sucked in goes into blazing hot turbos - the air temp going in really doesn't matter - it's all about the intercooler. Get a good one and you'll see IAT around ambiant which is as good as you can hope for without using other means...

Nick

You need to look past the hot and cold and realize other factors as well, as I mentioned above.

I just like the aftermarket intake for the sound. Now i'm completely stock. It's too quiet, but I don't want it too loud. Just some good sound when I push it. After a week of reading on this forum, i think i'm gonna get BMS DCI for the sound and price, but still worry about the fit of the BMS hose of 4.25 versus 4.5 stock. Also plan on JB or procede soon.

With an Active Autowerke Intercooler here is the difference... an average of 8.7 degrees. Without an upgraded intercooler, I would estimate a 13-15F difference.
