So what exactly are you guys getting? Those with welded diff will be getting the LSD and the mounting kit and then a shop will open the diff somehow and then mount the LSD with the kit??? I was planning to get one but not until sometime this Fall

Right now we're looking at just getting Wavetrac LSD and find the shop in Toronto that can do the conversion; separate the ring gear from the stock using CNC equipment, machine it, drill it and thread it to allow bolt mounting of Wavetrac differential.

It's Wavetrac's terminology "KIT" means you ship them your welded OEM differential, they then separate the ring gear from the stock using CNC equipment, machine it, drill it and thread it to allow bolt mounting of Wavetrac differential. Turn around time 2-4 weeks...

The second option I'm trying to get the best price on:

"Core exchange program
Wavetrac LSD is now available installed into the rear differential assembly. Core exchange program, we send you the entire rear differential assembly with the LSD installed ready to install in your car. You remove your old rear differential assembly and install the new one. This saves you the downtime of shipping your rear differential assembly to us and then waiting for us to send you your rear differential assembly with the LSD back to you. The $800 core charge is a deposit. Once we receive your rear differential assembly, the core charge is returned back to you."

The shipping charge on the second option would be massive there and back.

It would be better because I could did it myself but the shipping!

Yea I was just curious cuz I have bolted diff, but I don't see how it can be done for $700-800 like someone mentioned, it's alot of work I assume.

Let me know the price once you guys decide to go ahead with it, I might get one now depending on the price.

I suggest we add our car's build dates as well as type of transmission into the list above so we don't run into any confusion...

mine is a Dec. 2007 build, 6MT

Actually if everyone that is seriously interested can provide the last 7 digits of their VIN and transmission type that would be better.

Just had my information re-verified and I actually have a bolted differential, however Wavetrac still doesn't have LSD in production for my car with 2-4 weeks ETA...

Auto tranny's should all have bolted diffs from what I have learned. I am bolted as well. Even tho I am bolted I am still out for now. I have another decision to contemplate before LSD (DPs). Thanks guys and good luck!

That's what I thought, and certainly was surprised to hear that I actually have a bolted one after re-verifying with one of the biggest Quaife and Wavetrac LSD re-sellers in North America. However I'm planning to take my car to the shop to triple check, since one re-seller told me I have a welded and the other who I tend to believe it's welded.

If I was in your shoes I would do Cat-less DPs first hands down. Thankfully it's behind me as of last year...

I may be very wrong but - my car is an early build and upon visual inspection (see image below) I see what appears to be a 'bolted' diff. If it is then it's an easy determination.

I'd love to do this LSD but will hold off for now...enjoy.

You can not tell by looking at the diff like that you have to look at the yoke of the diff, unless you have a AT tranny then you most likely have a bolt on one.

I have a 6MT tranny I know I am welded. production date post dated 03/2007, mine is 09/2007.

The autos and manuals also have different gears.
