With a proper rider, bikes are very unlikely to get beat in a straight line. (I have beaten many through the canyons). But the point is, they are probably surprised as hell to see a stock looking BMW give them such a good run. Probably by the time they get to the proper gear, and take you seriously, you already have a 15mph jump on them.

FYI: Even a couple years ago, the 600's were running mid 10's at over 130mph. Can't even imagine a 1000 with 40-50% more HP. The 600's would have a 60-130 time somewhere in the 7 second range.

2009 Honda CBR600RR 2009 Kawasaki ZX-6R
Price: $10,499 $9799
Dry weight: 386 lb. 398 lb.
Wheelbase: 54.1 in. 55.1 in.
Seat height: 32.2 in. 31.8 in.
Fuel mileage: 46 mpg 44 mpg
0–60 mph: 2.9 sec. 3.2 sec.
1/4-mile: 10.53 sec. @ 131.11 mph 10.59 sec. @ 133.98 mph
Horsepower: 102.2 hp @ 12,360 rpm 110.2 hp @ 13,890 rpm
Torque: 45.2 ft.-lb. @ 11,210 rpm 44.3 ft.-lb. @ 11,680 rpm
Top speed: 156 mph 158 mph

So basically, if your car really traps at over 130mph, you have a good chance with a well riden 600cc bike. And if you trap around 145mph, you should be able to run with the 1000cc bikes.

bikes lose their advantage big time once you're rollling. Most of those huge trap speeds and low ETs are from the bikes advantage at a dig with their low weight. When you're starting a race with a bike from 50-70mph up to the mid 100s it's a completely different ballgame. At that point the bike needs a lot more top end HP than most come with from the factory to hang with something like a fully tuned M6.

I am trying to find this old youtube video from when the E60 M5 first started selling. Theres a superbike cruising about 190mph on the autobahn and this M5 just goes cruising past it with the top speed pegged. The reaction of the rider when a big sedan goes past was hilarious.

EDIT: Poor choice of wording, they hang with tuned cars, but they don't smoke them like they do from 0-60.

that's funny! it was an r6 with every mod from what the rider told me. i've raced 750's and 900's with them giving me a better fight but still on the highway these bikes get walked. this race was from second gear all the way to fifth reaching 150mph. here's another video racing a modified e46 m3. 60-180mph.

this car is a different animal with the 150shot. the car dynoed 504 rwhp without the nos. my cousins 997tt tiptronic runs 10.60's in the 1/4 and we run neck and neck. so the bike was surprised as so many others were too.

i have 325's in the rear and smokes the tires in second gear. so it's a fun car to drive. here's another video at the track without the nos.

enjoy the videos

Sick car. That guy in the Honda Civic was doing pretty well too in your video considering.....obviously not a stock civic.

Good driving by you on the track.

yeah that was my first time, so i wasn't pushing her to the max plus street tires. it was a blast and can't wait to go again. there were some great drivers out there and the m6 did better than i thought it would considering it's size.

thanks for the props. i'm excited about the 335i. for starters i'm going with the jb3 18ohm and intake. then i'll go with the methanol and DP's. and wait to see how the market goes. since it will be my daily driver i'm going to be a bit patient on modding and see what the market will hold.

i'm on the waiting list for the F12 M6 which is the main one i will be modding like crazy. just bolt ons and ecu will make the same power my m6 is doing with all bolt on and nos. it will be a beast. really excited how bmw m has gone with their new power performers. in the past i was planning to twin turbo my m6 but now that bmw m is going to forced induction it's not worth the wait and cost.

look what kind of power you'll be able to get out of the 335's compared to the e36 and e46 m3's. the money doesn't come close for the power gains that people have to spend compared to starting from scratch.

any way i'll post some pics of my new 335 next week when i get it.

yeah it's a sweet set up. it has a micro switch on the gas pedal so the nos isn't activated until i push the gas all the way down kind of like a kick down button in an auto. so i can go full throttle in first and not activate the nos until i feel i'll have traction. then i have a window switch that i set the nos to come on and off at what ever rpm is necessary and safe. on the ash trey i have the bottle opener, purge valve and to turn the nos on. the purge is in front of the kidney grills so it looks like a bull blowing his nose pretty sweet and get some praise. in the glove box i have the bottle heater that you can set bottle pressure and what temps the bottle is at. also the air/fuel so i always know when the nos is running in case the solenoids
are not working properly. the window switch also is in the glove box where rpm's are set.
everything is stealth and even in the engine bay all lines are hidden and solenoids.

Clean and very fast M6 for sure!!

But it's funny how you claim your car is "fully modded" with bolt-ons and tune.
