Everything works just fine and I don't want BMW fiddling around with it unless its a critical issue. |

the new com box looks really good.
when i ordered my car the idrive / connected drive technology was a big factor for me (apart from the rwd and n54 engine!) and i find it very useful. definately a big leap for the "onboard computer" interestingly after it had the belt butler replaced (late last year) it has been allowing me to use bmw online or watch dvds whilst driving, and also there is a function where the car reads the news to you (awful voice!) interesting stuff, but quite often nobody knows how to use it when you ask! yatin |

Its not looking good on the COMBOX retrofit just now.
Looked at the connectors/sockets and the only same ones are the optical block. The COMBOX has sockets same as the new CIC: (COMBOX on the bottom) |

So are you saying it should fit CIC cars?
What is it we have to replace with the new Com box? |

oh! I want this.
I just ordered my coupe with 609 and 6FL. What is 633: Telematics? What is 620: Voice control? Are these British options? I've never seen them before. Thanks

- the top module is Telephone/Telematics Control Unit (TCU) - the bottom module is the MULF (Hi or Low) The TCU is the GSM Telematics unit that handles ConnectedDrive/BMW Search communications, Bluetooth phone calls and Assist calls. The new Bluetooth Audio feature is there. The MULF handles Bluetooth when there is no TCU installed. The MULF High handles the USB/6FL/6NF as well and the MULF Low just the Bluetooth. Never read the name COMBOX referring to either the TCU or the MULF. Must be an UK thing... |

Yes, that's what the OEM document says. I will be very surprised that the E90 is not included in that upgrade as all 3-Series use the same exact iDrive and 6FL modules and software.

Can you take a photo upper plate of Combox with BMW part number? I'd like to order it.
