Michelin PS2 is as good as the bridgestone in the dry, better in the wet and last nearly twice as long (200 or 220 tread rating). Very predictable too, no harsh transitions from grip to slip. While they are expensive, they are generally the "benchmark" that other companies comare to.

Serach Car and Driver for their performance tire review article. They too used the PS2 as the benchmark, but a couple of tires performed as well or better for less money.
