It's very possible that the water reached your oxygen sensors. I'm just going by what you said...
"[he stuck] the hose in each tailpipe for a few seconds" Water is incompressible, so it's very likely that it did, in fact, travel all the way up to your oxygen sensors. On top of that... if the water has reached one, it's very likely that it has reached them all (four). I would take it to the dealership and play dumb. That's your best chance of getting this fixed for free. After all, they will NEVER guess that your cousin did such a thing to your car. I'm not sure that it's ever happened before, in the history of humans and automobiles. lol |

with all those errors, id call roadside and get it towed to the dealer,
your call but if i were you, id kinda let them know what happened, and let the chips fall where they may... better than letting them find out the exhaust was filled with water, expost facto.. then theyll think youre trying to pull one over on them, and if anything, lose their trust and any good will they would extend to you.. just my $.02 BMW Roadside Assistance -- ## 1 800 332-4269 its a free ride -- |

FWIW, your diagnosis will not help them one bit. They are required to do all of their own diagnostic tests, from square one. If it is a problem with the oxygen sensors, they will find it. |

The vanos error is disturbing, that tells me the water may have made its way up past the turbos to the exhaust valves.... let's hope not. What happened when you started the car? Did a crap load of water come out of the exhaust?

Right after I started the car some water came out, but not a crap load, just a steady flow of a few drops per second. I sure do hope it just accumulated in the muffler and it's nothing serious. |

They fixed it...it had a defective intake vanos solenoid and the valves got stuck in the open position.
Gonna pick it up later, gotta love BMW! Word to the wise, never let a teenage boy near your exhaust with hose in hand...had to learn that the hard way. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me out! |
