probably add another 6k above the retail price, and sometime during October / November for inital previews..
I'm not a fan of chromes, so I hope there will be less chormes with the 5 M-Sport kit. |

http://bmw.com.au/faces/jModelCompar...173&modelId=20 Claimed consumption figures are attached below. Although heavier, the 520d seems more frugal than even a 320d sedan (must be a more EfficientDynamics version of the 320d's engine?) Last edited by bcoz; 05-07-2010 at 11:10 PM.. |

I received the F10 brochure from BMW by email. It looks as though Gloss (black) shadowline trim or chrome is an option for all models, so I don't see why they would put chrome on the M-sport version.
I wanted the F10 brochure to send to a relative. However I just found out he signed a contract a Lexus IS-F last week which was a surprise to me. If only BMW had put the brochure on the website a bit sooner. Anyway I think the Lexus IS-F is a very nice choice as a back-to-basics V8 sports sedan. Its 360mm brembos are making me a bit envious actually. |

^ do you really need to pay $2000 to have something that tells you your changing lanes?
Or $3400 for night vision? Also head light washing systems are terrible. I have it on my M and when i go to use the window washer the head light washers pop up and spray half my car. Its a real nuisance and i dont think you could ever let you car get so dirty that you need to specifically just wash the head lights while you are driving. It will never happen. There is more on the list i would cut or change for sure, but if u just want it to be fully loaded go for it i guess.

^^ Some valid points.
My way of thinking is the more features you get, the more there is to go wrong. There is already a lot to go wrong with these efficient dynamics BMWs. I can forgive that for a car that looks as good as the F10. |

With Xenons isn't it and ADR requirement to have washers?
Likewise, as my car is washed weekly, I avoid using them wherever possible. Night vision looks like a useful toy, if pricey. Its a bit lame that things like electric memory seating and Comfort Access aren't standard on 520d and 528i.

Voice control allows you to control most iDrive functions using voice commands (ie. you press the voice button on the steering wheel and say commands out loud). It doesn't work all that well, but can be useful sometimes.
BMW usually bundle voice control with Professional Navigation, so if you're getting that, ask if it is already included. Here's some info on the improved voice control system introduced in Sep 2009... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=270789 Last edited by bcoz; 05-12-2010 at 10:54 AM.. |

2000km on ours.
Driving out in the southern suburbs I can get mid 7's whereas the 325i gets low 10's. A run through RNP to Woolongong and back got 5.9 in the d. Might get 8.5-9 in the 325i. Our usual inner urban running (Sydney city/inner west/eastern suburbs) has the car on just under 10l/100km. The 325i in those circumstances would be getting into the 14's. Neither of us particularly drives for economy I should point out...
