If I did get this and wanted to go in for warantee claims, how in the hell would i take this system off? I dont have the factory oilcooler so this retro fit may create future problems with the dealer. other than that I would be in. I even called and spoke witrh someone and they weere very helpful in explaing the install.

I dont know what to do........ this modding and dealers make me wary on doing most of the things I want to do.

My temps haven't gotten over 245 yet and the ambient temps were in the mid 80s right after I had it installed.

More impressive though are the gains on the top end. I'm still getting used to it. It just screams now. I'm sure the other ICs out there offer similar gains. I'm super impressed and happy with the cp-e.
Are you still under warranty? I want this............

I am. I don't plan on removing the ic or oc for visits. I change my own oil so only really have need to go to the dealer if something breaks. In that case I'll evaluate what it is versus the effort to remove all or some mods. Honestly though I don't believe this mod will get that much attention. Most likely I'll pull my standback, dci, and bov pipe and leave the rest in. I did get a new hpfp and service with my catted dps and exhaust both times. Dealer never said a word.

If you were going to remove the oc, that is cake. It's literally one bolt and reinsert the original lines. It's completely and quickly reversible, if a little messy.

does anyone else feel the oil cooler will affect the ic? i mean that thing gets HOT, if its sitting on top of the IC doesnt that heat the IC as well?

The O/C is not your primary O/C. In addition to what boom has said, the cp-e addition acts in an auxiliary capacity to assist your stock one on those days that you're pounding your car.

Doing the last touches on the installation guide as we speak, it's the final piece of the puzzle.

There is absolutely no way the oc will affect he ic. It sits about an inch off of the core and the fins are about a 1/2 inch thick from where the oc core mounts. Air is one of the best thermal insulators there is so convection is a non issue.

So my one year old had an asthma attack requiring an ambulance trip to the hospital yesterday. She's fine (and crazy, lol) thank God. My wife called me in a panic as I was leaving work. I work 20 miles south of the beltway and my wife was in DC with our baby. I floored it and made it to my exit in about 20 minutes never going under 100 except for the four or five lights on Indian Head hwy. Most of the time I was full boost accelerating or 110+ mph. Oil temp never went over 245.

Lol, yeah it was a pretty harrowing experience. I was nervous driving like that with one arm but scared out of my mind for my little girl.

i've called today cp-e and they told me they are updating their webpage right now and will have the price and new info asap.
more than that, when enquiring about retrofitting, they told me they are interested in someone getting from Washington DC/Virginia Area to come by and help the community to work out a way to retrofit the oil cooler (well i guess they can offer you something beneficial too)

i'm from a galaxy far far away so please chime in. i'm all in for OC/IC but if the matter could be solved soon, i would rather wait couple weeks more and buy the whole kit and not be forced to fabricate something myself in ukraine.

hope this helps me and fellow owners.

If you're interested in the cp-e FMIC/OC combo, please send me a PM and I'll be happy to take care of you.

I might have a person that's going to come down to cp-e to for them to take a look at his OC. Problem is... they could give a short synopsis and could require the owner to leave his car there for the R&D to be beneficial. There's gotta be someone local!

Does anyone know if CP-E might offer the OC seperately? Many of us upgraded the FMIC before they released theirs. Can we add on their OC? I have the factory OC and would like to add CP-E's on.

I'm in Maryland so I could drive down and have them install as well.

There are no plans for CP-E to break the combo Scott as they were produced 1:1. I will entertain the question again to see if their stance has changed. However, if I come across any customers that don't want it... I will certainly send them your way.

SBE, let me know when you're ready to order.

Josh, thanks boss, eager to hear your reviews and see your datalogs Cars going to be a BEAST.

So this combo can or cannot be used on a 335i that does not have the factory OC?

The FMIC will work as a stand alone unit, you won't be able to use the O/C until CP-E engineers a solution. It's on the list of things to develop so hopefully, I'll have an answer from them soon.

Anyone know how much extra oil you'd need to add after adding the oil cooler?
