Also, I doubt that the stock N54 injectors are capable of flowing enough cfm to reach their HP goals. So, it seems logical to dump the existing fueling system with the tried and true port injection.

I won't be surprised if their monstrosity comes with standalone engine management.
I believe the Single tubro stage's will consist of their own AEM Standalone management, although R&D isnt complete so this is not set in stone.

DI is superior in that the engine can ingest more air (since the intake charge is not diluted with fuel) and injection timing is more precise. Current DI equipment on the N54 seems to be capable of increases without upgrading.

Nice posts, by the way. Stage 4 exhaust seems like a real headache generator on any trip over 50 miles.
Agreed, but there are some remedies to help on the drone.

I appreciate your updates, but find it very misleading that you posted an E46 stage 4 video in here.... I mean there is nothing remotely similar between the N54 and S54 engines.

That's like AMS posting on here saying "oh we have some great plans for the N54, btw heres a stage 4 EVO with 700whp!"
Sure it shows the capabilities of the company, but doesn't relate to upcoming N54 products at all, which is what this thread is about right?

I hope people aren't being misled thinking that this new turbo kit is going to preform like the stage 4 for the E46 m3.... Maybe it would have been better to post some HPF videos previewing the N54 turbo-kit progress

Nevertheless, looking forward for more details on the turbo kit

I am with you, but I am starting to wonder why there are no upgrades to the fuel system whatsoever available for us yet. I am closing in on the fuel system potential now at about 525 rwhp. I plan on nudging that number up a bit hopefully soon, but all the higher hp guys need to think about how we are going to upgrade or supplement this fuel system.

I am not overly familar with the IS350? Do they have the chronic hpfp issues as well?

I owned an is350 before my 335 and never had an issue period.
but performance mods were few and far between as toyota ecu's are apparently hard to crack.

Hopefully they don't use AEM, had loads of issues with them on my twin Turbo vr4. Took AEM a year before they realized they had a serious timing flaw in the base code and their autotune never worked properly.

Never again...

I don't think AEM has a standalone for the 335i yet and if they do it's going to deter a lot of people who want to pass smog emmissions/inspection.

Yeah you are correct they did not. They were very focased on finishing the customers cars being built in the shop and did not want to delay their customers by finishing the R&D. They will be right back on track now that Mfest is over and they can get back to getting everything ready for the N54.

I wish they offered a bit smaller intercooler (like 50% over stock), 80% over stock it's just too much for many people's planned power levels and requires significant cutting. It surprises me how no tuning company manages to capture the true needs of 335i owners...
