I'm currently in discussion with the leasing company...
The dealer sais that they have to enter a 'code' in the system, so that the car knows it has reading lights in the back. For this code, they'll charge me 300€. This is to prevent people put 3rd party stuff in their car, ... they say ... As my leasing company wrongly ordered my car, they have to pay for this cost. More to come .... Freddy 2U |

Hi guys, I am in the same situation in retrofitting the simple single rear dome with one with individual lights. So by looking to the findings and also to the wiring Diagram, seems to me that the solution is easier, at least for me it's making sense. So the findings proved to be working already: Pin 20 -> Pin 3 (Center Dome Light signal from front dome console) Pin 17 -> Pin 4 (Ambient Light) Pin 13 -> Pin 6 (Ground or Negative) With this according to what was said in previous message, the center dome light works individual and also controlled by front, and as well the ambient lights are working as well. So the main doubt for everyone is how to put the reading lights working. If you look well to the pinout of the back dome plug, the pins from 1 to 8 EXCEPT the pin 6 (Ground), all the other pins are basically 12v Positive pins (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8). So excluding the pins 3, 4 and 6 that are already connected to front dome, if you find a positive 12v constant powered cord you can just shunt it splitting it into 5 new wires and power the pins 1, 2, 5, 7 and 8. Because seems to me that all that matters its to have at least the following connected to the front dome: Pin 20 -> Pin 3 (Center Dome Light signal from front dome console) Pin 17 -> Pin 4 (Ambient Light) Pin 13 -> Pin 6 (Ground or Negative) And all the other can come from any 12v powered wire from the car, and no coding is needed. This is just brainstorming. Does it make sense to you? Last edited by PNSaibot; 11-30-2022 at 09:31 AM.. |
