2.2 is incredibly fast, and I'm not even using an official release. As we speak, a full episode of Family Guy is playing on Hulu on my phone, with no lag whatsoever and perfect sound quality. How cool is that?
I like the EVO's screen but honestly, the phone is TOO big. The incredible is just the right size.

I'm kinda excited to see how fast the phones are running 2.2 and overclocking the Snapdragon.

My problem with the droid and other google phones is that they didn't get the UI right. It's not as smooth and natural as the iPhone is. I hate hard keyboards, they are not easy to use at all. They support a bunch of features I don't care about. All I want is to make phone calls, surf the web briefly when sitting at a doctors office, listen to music, gps, and send and receive email. All these other apps were a fad that I stopped buying into a while ago.

No flash support on a phone is not a big deal, on the iPad it is...

Anyways, I don't see any reason to switch.

hey Droid user, I'm able to control home lighting, door locks, security cameras, my car, my home theater, my home sound system, my computer at work and at home, my media receiver, even my laptop, buy train tickets, plane tickets, rent cars without talking to anyone, make restaurant reservations, buy movie tickets, oh and all of that while still on a call.... all you get to do is watch useless videos on the internet.

Much of that can already be done on Android phones, the rest will probably be available shortly. Flash will never be available on the iPhone.

This.

I was a big hater towards the android concept when it first came out. Now that 2.2 is coming out and I've had some playtime on an android based phone, I think they may surpass the iphone. I love the iphone without a doubt but I will not leave verizon to go to att. Android phones are the way to go.

A minor correction to my last post... converted flash apps will be available. By "flash" I mean the flash player proper.

Since this post is so full of shit from an obviously uneducated person...

How do you feel using a phone which is just now getting official support for multitasking and user customizable wallpapers? Sure you can jailbreak for those things but should it be necessary to hack one's phone just to change the wallpaper in 2010?

By the way, how did it feel having to go to that shitty readmymessage site on a PC every time you got an MMS? How long did that go on for, two years? I was there too- I've owned iPhones since 2007 and still own one. Apple's habit of being behind the curve of cellular capability has finally gotten to me. How does it feel having no official tethering solution? Again, yes, you can jailbreak and get it for free, but should you have to do that just because your phone's sole network is to retarded to implement it in less than 5 years? My employer pays for legitimate tethering for one of my phones. What do I tell them? "Oh, I jailbroke it..."

What was the benchmark score for your phone in MFlops?

Didn't Apple specifically deny the use of the iPhone app compiler in Flash CS5?

the 2.2 that is out right now isnt even the official "froyo" and the droid 2.2 is just a hacked version of the unofficial n1 froyo that is out currently

either way its so much faster and official froyo should blow everything else out of the water

i own nexus1 and after trying to use the iphone again, it was literally impossible without almost throwing it out

Agreed. iPhone OS is seriously beginning to show its age. It's like using a time machine and going back to 2007.

You're right though. The iPhone is a cheaper phone with less features, it really is like a Mitsubishi.

Nice phone choice. Swype's accuracy is excellent.

Saying Android is better than the iPhone OS, is like saying Windows is better than Mac OS to me. I have no doubt that Android will eventually own most of the market share, but not because it's better. It's more of a utilitarian OS. It fits the needs of more users, but doesn't provide a better experience. There are those that want lots of bullet points, and those that want a quality experience. You know, the "less is more" approach to design.

Actually it doesn't. The majority of users look for familiarity, easy to use especially when it comes to daily used devices like phones. That is iphone. Android is there, like windows, for the people who like to tinker, customize, and make their phones even more useless.
