There are some other hardware upgrades to the 335is (bigger brakes being one) so there are advantages to it. Not sure if it's worth the price premium of course. But yeah, spending a premium for a mildly tuned 335 isn't a good investment if you plan on adding a powerful tune like the Procede.

i havent read anywhere that says the 335is has bigger brakes. as far as hardware...i heard beefier flywheel, stiffer engine mounts, perf exhaust and additional radiator.

Unfortunately, it's the only way to order a new n54 335 now. I trust the N55 Procede is still a ways off....?

Absolutely. Imagine being in overboost mode all the time, at all engine speeds. Plus another 20-30whp.

I received my 335is about two weeks ago. Since day 2 Ive had a JB3 in the car and is running fine. Every day the tune is refined and is only getting better. BMS customer support is unreal.

In theory, you can just buy a 335is and plug in your JB3 (or procede). I would much rather have someone like Terry (or Shiv) study your baseline and okay it before cranking up the maps and running the car around town. My 2 cents.

So are people just getting an addtional 30hp with a 335is tuned Procede compared to a 335i tuned Procede?

no, should be getting same hp as 335i...jb3/procede makes the 335is and 335i do the same thing.

thats not the only reason someone would order a 335is...for one its the only way to get a new N54 335 engine. im pretty sure the full exhaust is the same and dps will fit.

perhaps a few hp...but its only an axleback...most of the hp gains in the exhaust are at the downpipes then the midpipes.

What is the point of spending 60k to have a car that is no more powerful than a pre-LCI 335i with the same mod? The DCT is worth it alone, but not sure if you can get that on a non 'is'. I myself would stick with the non 'is' n54, but alot of people on these boards don't want to tune their cars. They may want to keep it for the long hull. I'm getting rid of mine in a couple years so don't really care for longevity so thats why I'd get the non 'is' and tune it, but people have different ideas of what they want out of the 335.

Sorry to bring this thread back. I didn't want to start a new one.

I just read that the overboost limit for the 335is is 14.5 to give it 370 lbs of torque. It seems like a lot of boost for such a gain, doesn't it?
