I'm heading to cp-e today to see if I can get the boost gauge function added to my standback. I'll report more on it if I can get it. |

Having the speedo as a boost guage is retarded....so in essence even if they did come out with it first it doesn't matter because they are using the speedometer and the patent would not be honored! IMO its very distracting also....Vishnu use of the fuel is the best option

not a fan of the speedo boost guage, but I wouldn't mind my cruise control on the outside of the speedo showing boost as I never use my cruise control.

The gas/boost function is much more logical. Unless you're on a race track (where you are always looking at where you are going not at the speedo) you need to know what you're speed is.

It's a cool demonstration of what can be done. I actually like it over the fuel gauge approach. It is a little busy to have the speedo jumping around like that for my taste. Nice feature though.

I do however think that my ability to know my speed is pretty important. To each his own but i just feel that this is a tad dangerous. I could also see it being illegal because of how distracting it could become. just my opinion. |

i will just keep my p3 boost guage... no thx on this and procede on boost guage feature... if i must, i would still pick procede over this as that one is on fuel not on actual speedo...

I just got back from cp-e having the boost gauge implemented on my standback. All I can say is I love it. I set mine at 8 psi and it ONLY functions as a boost gauge when I'm wot. All other times it's a regular speedo. I can also disable the feature by cycling the hazard switch 5 times. I think it's awesome. I go wot, it shows boost as long as I hold it. The instant I let off, the speed is displayed. I agree it looked somewhat distracting on the video but when driving it's not distracting at all. You know exactly when to look for speed or boost because you're in control. Watching on the video is sort of like being a passenger. As a driver, you know exactly what to expect while your passenger just has an idea.
I truly love it. The coolest part is being able to set the point where the transition occurs. I set it at 1 psi and that was no good as the needle was all over the place nplaying with it, I just decided that I only cared what my boost was when wot so I set it high. It might not be ideal for track use if you need your speed leading up to a corner, etc. but other than that, I can't see a downside. |
