The main purpose of the methanol is to boost the octane. The main purpose of the water is to cool intake temps. If you use 100% meth you will have a higher octane but hotter ait. 100% water would be cooler air temps but lower octane.

the most common mixes are somewhere between 50/50 and 80/20.... you want some water to help cool the ait.

Here are mine:

I usually have injection mode turned on, but I ran out of meth.. been to lazy to go get some. So I'm running MAP1 for now, it autotuned so far to 15.8 and IC=0.

Does anyone else think these autotuned numbers seem conservative for his mods?

I wonder if the autotuned values are showing lower boost and IC going higher due to heatsoak with multiple back to back runs?

Most of us are finding that autotune is improving our boost and reducing IC....but for some, the numbers are going in the opposite direction.

I do a pull or two and then give the car time to cool down, because I begin to notice timing advance dropping significantly on my upshift from 3rd to 4th gear.

So I stop for a while and let the car cool down.

Since autotune averages out the knock, I stop before the knock count has an impact on the autotuned average.

Having a look at harry$'s agression level = 7.8 suggests that the pulls are back to back and a lot of timing pull is being averaged into the autotune logic.

Would this not explain why his autotuning is getting less and less aggressive?

Depends if the car is able to benefit from the increased octane or not, this car would.

Yea the fact that I have 2 mods, which consist of a DCI and Methanol and I have aggression level of 1.5 @ 17 psi worries me.0% Ignition correction as well.

For me to get to 2.0 Im going to over-spinning the snot out of these turbos especially on a stock intercooler.

I feel the default aggression level for reliability should be 1.0.

Thats my .02.

That's why the boost limit is there. For people like you who run race gas or methanol injection. For these folks, they will often hit their turbo limitation before you hit octane limitations. The the other 99% of users running on pump gas, the octane limit is the first wall they run into.

I would have kept my autotune at 19psi on 93+meth if I wanted to play with fire

Well then this goes out to all the race gas meth people...

Choose your boost wisely, AGGRESSION LEVEL isnt the end all be all, use some basic fudemantals of tuning!!!

19 PSI on a stock intercooler is 20+ Psi on the hotside, your turbo;s hate you!!!

ok

I update to firmware #22 last nightand went for a quick drive.

Started on Map 2 settings
Ended:

Aggression 4.5
15.3 PSI
63 IC

This was on 98RON...

It ended too aggressive... I pushed hard on a very stiff cliff before I stopped pushing. Guess this helped...

I think the UT would have gone down after a while if I continued driving WOT.

You have meth ...I have not , but we do have similar autotune values.
How's that possible?
The only sure thing is that after autotune installed , my car kicks asses...feels extremely strong.

I'm very impressed...
