20's are a major performance killer

Since everyone is just considering appearances, someone might want to raise the issue of performance and potholes.
Once you get over 17", the overall performance suffers and weight increases. In addition, the larger the tire the thinner the sidewall - how are the roads in your area? Are they good enough for very short sidewalls? |

I think 20s with a lip and a good drop look awesome on the e9x.

IMO it depends on what type of driver you are. If you are a cruiser and are not racing the car around, 20's + a drop. But make sure you have money to repair them because you will bend them and eventually have to replace the barrels.
If you are a racer and are looking for performance and you dont want to have to keep repairing them, 19's all the way. But I dont care what anyone says, 20's look hot on a e9x. for example... http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/sal...els-tires.html ![]() |

I have 19s... I think with the right set of 19s e92s look perfect. With the right set of 20s e92s look perfect!
it all depends on the wheel and the suspension

I am pretty sure that if he wants to take the car the track he wont be doing so on 20, all this BS about performance. for all the performance crazy guys out there, if you are running STOCK wheels shut ur mouth or upgrade to your performance stuff I don't see any of you running on light weight wheels like Fikses, and to the ones that are not running stock good day this is not for you keep doing your stuff

Since you asked, 20" wagon wheels with rubber band tires look ridiculous on any vehicle IMO, especially a BMW 3-Series. Anything bigger than 18" is overkill. The increased unsprung weight at the corners = reduced acceleration and degraded braking. The tires cost a lot more too...
