Mike - Newbie, quick question...I just purchased a new 2011 BMW 335i X-drive M-Sport sedan and am very interested in the new JB3 for the N55 motor. Will the dealer find out you have this device or can the NEW BMS CAN TOOL remove all codes? I'm just afraid I will void my warranty on my new car. Do I have to remove the entire harness every time I bring the car in for service?
Thanks! |

Sorry must have missed it. The CAN TOOL will remove all codes once you remove the tune so you are all good As for tune removal its the same as the N54 recommendation. If you are going in for oil service, etc. then you can leave it on but if you are going in for warranty work then its usually best to remove. The N55 stage1 tune is much easier to install/remove so if you are worried its best to always remove and clear the codes, if any. Mike |

They are excellent on their Customer Service skills. Even though I am not involved in the N55, but with my N54, Mike helped me out desperately on a Sunday afternoon issue.

OK, so I'm new at this, and I have a few questions. So I installed the Stage 1 for the N55, 1) is that all?, do I have to do something else? 2) i got CAN Tool, do I have to do any more modding with it? Sorry for the questions. Just want to get everything right!! THANKS |

Mike - Thanks for answering my earlier question regarding warranty. Another question on the CAN tool. I understand that with this tool you can not selectively delete certain codes, it is all or nothing. If this is the case and I clear all the codes when I do this am I clearing any good codes that I need? Is the automatic maintenance reminder tied to these codes? If I delete all the codes will it wipe away where I am with my oil life from a dealer maintenance perspective? I don't know....can you please comment.
Thanks! Mark |
