The AA BOV is about that far forward. So tempting.

after installing many different systems, it seems that the Burger DCI is the best value, and the AFE enclosed system seems to offer the most performance and is a high quality unit.

no its not i had the AA bov and i had to buy this one to use this intake....i like the chargepipe and BOV more then AA also. that charge pipe of AA is super thin like paper compared to this one and the BOV is a little cheap. Tial makes awesome BOV

the only thing the AA BOV had going for it was that it makes a loud wosh noise....this one is more like a pppssss noise

edit: you can go on youtube and type tial bov to hear the difference

also none of these parts are made in china or anything so their high quality stuff

Any ideas??

Those filters on the ASR intake are awful small. Even IF they flow as much as stock intake with stock filter which I highly doubt, it would be at the cost of poorer filtration. I suspect that all kinds of junk will be entering the engine...

I have the aFe intake system. Yes it did come with a little price. I picked it up for $299 brand new from an aFe dealer local. I installed it myself which took about 45 min, very easy. I love the sound that it makes and I can feel that it made a difference. Plus it is a very clean look on the car with the Heat Shield under the intake cones.... Strongly recommend

I went from:
Stock
AFE
Stett CAI.
DCI
AFE
I ended up back at afe, because it was the ones that worked the best for me.

Terrance, What are you running for your FMIC? I have aFe as you see above, and the JB3 tuner...love them both but looking to increase the air flow/lower temperatures with an Intercooler...looking for some opinions/facts. Im looking at AMS, AA, and Helix

ASR did the testing and found it was more then enough air with bigger turbos. They even tested it with the lid open and it showed no difference. Its hard to believe I know, but believe it man. I used to have BMS dci and I believe oddjob had the factory with rpi scoops+drop in filter and we both agree that the car feels faster then it did especially in high speeds. Think about it you have 2 huge scoops pushing a cold 80+ mph wind into your intake.

I'm not an engineer or anything so I cant get all specific with you. If you want to know more you will have to call ASR and speak to them or message them or maybe message oddjob he knows more about the technical stuff then I do. I can only tell you what I feel and my experience. I definitely feel the car faster

EDIT: as for chargepipe and BOV I've went from unplugging the diverter valves to STETT(I didn't like how everything was with rubber hoses and t-clamps. The actual chargepipe is only a few inches long and their meth port is right next to the sensor which is right infront of the throttle body{i like having my plug be more infront so it has more time to combine with the air}) to AA where I was happy until I saw ASRs charge pipe and that new tial BOV

btw I raced my friends ISF with an exhuast, 100 shot of nitrous, idk what else and the new m3 with all of AA stuff beside the supercharger and I smoked both it was funny because they were both looking down on me as if my car was slow ha i showed them

Dinan gucci CAI intake is the best there is. It flows the most air got the most gains. Mr5 is a cheaper copy of Dinan intake and comes a close second IMO. That is if you don't mind parting with your kidney for the Dinan one.

Stock /w Drop-in during July,Aug,Sep/Track
DCI rest of the year/Drag

Honestly I could probably run DCI's all the time when spraying Meth, but stock feels so much smoother when it's really hot outside. I know it's been shown that greater airflow is better than slightly cooler temps, but it feels like such small gains and honestly the DCI sound gets on my nerves. To anyone looking to buy, don't dink the vendor coolaid, look at individual testing first then decide if their "proven +20 hp" gains are true.

Damn T.....AFE worked best for you?? There is all kinds of crap about how it costs WHP.

I have replaced my BMS cones with AEM Dri Cones. http://www.racinglab.com/aem-dryflow-filter.html
They are super easy to clean and you can roll them up into a ball and they will return to their origional shape. I take mine out so often to make adjustments to charge pipe, meth injetion sites etc... that I wanted something durable that didn't look like shit once you handled them one or two times.

I like the AFE design but I have read too many posts on how they slowed folks down. If Terrance says they work best for him I would make sure that I had the same set up all the way around...FMIC, BOV scoops etc. Terry at BMS just dynoed some and the results were dissapointing .

I like the injen intake! It looks sharp, sets cones off the engine, snorkels in air directly to one cone and puts the other cone in a spot to get air from the brake duct with minor modifications. Im sure Im getting about 15wph from my dci with my aem cones, there is no wire mesh on my cones to heat soak, and I can yank them right out from under my strut bar when I need to with no worries about them being damaged by handling them.

That ARS intake looks real nice... that metal box has got to heat soak though, I don't care what you paint it with.....A plexiglass version would do a much better job of keeping heat off the cones I think.
