Hi Guys,
Im looking at getting these as replacements for my halogen bulbs in my 2006 E90. I have halogen shrouds (not projectors). Are you guys doing the same thing.? Do they look OK compared to halogen. PLEASE NO COMMENTS ABOUT PUTTING HIDS INTO HALOGENS AND STORIES ABOUT POLICE IM NOT INTERESTED NOR DO I CARE ! Im interested in anyone whos installed these straight to a standard halogen housing on an E90.. Are you getting any computer faults ??? Thanks guys. PM if you like |

Not from Australia, but finally found a thread about HIDs in Halogen Housings that actually is helpful!! (Without the typical 'don't do it', 'it's illegal' etc)
I just picked up '11 328i with Halogens and although they're not that bad at night...I'd love to pop some aftermarket HIDs in. I read a lot of threads concerning issues with error codes, and that it's a major PITA to install. Can anyone confirm if say one gets an error code..it'll vanish if one pops the factory halogen bulb back in? A bit nervous to get an error code, then end up having to go to the dealership to have it reset or whatever. (Not too smart into this field..) Also, some pictures of someone having them installed would be helpful too. Thanks |

Installing them is very easy through the wheel well. There is no need to take the wheel off. Installation time is about 45 mins.

One thing I was trying to avoid mentioning, but couldn't help myself. It makes me feel guilty when I get high beams from other drivers at night. This happens every second or third night. I don't drive for more than an hour a night. When I get the high beams, I flash my high beams back to say to other drivers:"what's wrong mate. I'm using the low beams!!"
My next BMW MUST have factory xenons.

kimbo, there is a OEM BMW Xenon retrofit kit if you like but that would set you back by atleast $1500-2000. There is also a Projector Xenon kit that has inbuilt Angel eyes for around $550 from the US, info should be in some previous thread I posted in, might require a bit of work though, you could ask Steve, a BMW mechanic who's services quite a few of us use to fit it for you quite reasonably.

I haven't bought it yet kimbo but is a good option on my mind. MO3's option though is the easiest. Wonder if anyone in Australia has installed one of these. I think was 550 shipped but you'll have to check again with jlevi

I was looking the price list on the Jlevi site and i think the cost will be
Projector headlights $299 HID option $109 Error cancelling unit $39 Angel eyes upgrade to white light $99 Delivery $130 Total $676 Then if your a noob like me you need to pay for installation too As much as I would love to buy this option as its much cheaper then the OEM I think Moe's option is alot cheaper and i think i can do it my self Thanks for the options though cruvon.. wish it was cheaper |

I think the $440 option has quite a few of those options included except for the error modules but not sure. True is much ado over headlights and Moe's option makes the most sense esp since you will be left with a spare set of headlights too that you will have no use for if went with the jlevi projectors
