N55 has different spark plugs, coils and injectors.... is it due to lack of space on the head taken away by the valvetronic?
At least for the injectors, it seems it is the 2nd generation of them, will see if it is improved. I think that the OLD N54 pre 29.2 software was at least as responsive as the N55... but then they cut the balls of the N54 |

I think the N54 will have a long life...at least 3 more years. They will try to shift to the N55 to no avail...

DA was 1900, so I'll give you another 2 mph for that ... Now we are at 107. If you were on 93 octane, I'll give U another 2 mph on 103 octane. So, (if you ran that 103 mph on 93 octane) You could possibly trap 109 with that tune under excellent conditions .. Not too bad, but that is a lot of "could have" to bring the car up to 109mph. Hopefully, you can get the tune sorted and make that thing move. BTW, nice looking car

I agree. Put some 103 octane in it and run it in the right lane. It could trap 108 or 109..

I'm tired of all the N54 > N55 nonsense. Everyone likes to say what they have is better. What is the point of this thread again? And comments like "i think n54 is better". Are you kidding me? Bring some value to the thread for crying out loud.

My 335i is from April 2011, did it come with the N55 or it's still using the N54 ? How can I check it ?

+1 I would not trade my n54 for an n55. 335is is the way to go for sure, you can't beat the DCT.
