I agree, and I think it is because the face of the 162 is so flat, it makes it look larger than it is. Then when you add a 18 with a lip, then it appears to be smaller, becaue it breaks up the surface that you are looking at.

Wheels look the larger the longer are the spokes. In these RE30 the spokes are very short. Many OE wheels have their spokes to reach the very edge of the rim, at least inch or two longer than the respective diameter RE30 spokes. This is just info which does not matter though. Who cares if the rims look tiny or big.

RE30 is technically the best wheel to have in our cars. 17 inch would be perfect if RE30 would not exist. However, 18" RE30 being very light, the weight of tire&wheel combo is not too much worse than the lightest 17 inch wheel&tire combo.

I love these wheels. I believe they are designed to be 30% stronger then either the CE or the TE.
