That looks really good!
I do see where the tint doesn't cover the black dot matrix very well. I guess it does this for everybody.?? I ran your picture through Photoshop to adjust a few things to see how a real 35% tint on the Montego Blue looks in comparison to my pictures. The reflections off the glass make it look a lot lighter than it really is, I guess. I wan't able to simulate reflectivity. What kind of tint do you have? |

Maybe the 2% was a typo. If not, it sounds dangerous.

I prefer 35%... I think it looks the best, and its not too dark to the point where it starts to get annoying to drive with at night.

15% all around or 15% front and rear windsheild and 5% on the smaller rear windows

Keep in mind most tints look darker in pictures than in person. My last car was 35% all around and was my first car tinted. I liked it but it didn't feel dark enough. I now have 15% rear and 35% fronts and it looks really dark in a picture but then it could be a lot darker in person. My next car is going to 5% rears and 15% fronts. No offense anyone, but in Ohio, as long as you're not black or white trying to act black, the cops could care less. I've never been to Idaho and don't know how things work there though.
My tint guy basically told me 50% is worthless unless you're getting it for stricly UV protection and not looks. If you want to cover both ends and not be too dark and bothered by police then go 35%. I'd actually suggest my current 35%/15% setup. With how dark the 15% is in the rear you can tell a big difference with the 35% up front. It shows the police you weren't blatenly getting dark tints to piss them off. Plus when all the interior lights are on you see in just fine. For the dot matrix find a reputable tint shop. A professional should have no problems with it. I had to have my rear window tinted twice. First time by a new shop that I got a good deal on. They did a crap job. Second time was not paid for by me so it was sent to a really good shop. Now the rear window looks as if it were tinted at the factory.

What film works best to cover the dot matrix as well as the rest of the glass? Or is it all in who applies it and what they use for adhesive?

I have 20%, and that is fine if what you are trying to go for is sunlight protection and somewhat of a privacy thing. However, if you really don't want people to see you, but you don't want limo, go with 12-15%.
some places offer different percentages. Whatever you do, I would go with the same % all around, just looks cleaner and flows better overall. You can probably get away with a 5% in the back though, but for the windows that are right next to each other, I would stay the same. |

the 35% looks cool. Although I really think a bimmer without tint would show everyone that the driver looks as great as his ride (hehehe!)

I've got 15% all around, and I think it's just right.
It's dark enough to look great, and keep my car cool, but it's light enough to keep the cops from hassling me. |

i personally like 35% the best. not too dark, not too light.
50% is going to be lighter than what was photoshopped.
