How's it the best when they use what appears to be a similar silicon connector that is an accordion type disrupting airflow? I'm hoping that is just for the outside the ribbing, because if the inside looks like the outside on that one tube...bad design.
Intercooler itself looks pretty similar to others...but that silicon tubing needs to go on that short end, get something smoother.

Can you link to purchase site? I can't find with Google.
Also, what is the volume in CI? * Nevermind, found it: http://www.wagner-tuning.de/EN/produ...uehler_eng.php I converted from CC to CI. It's 828CI, very good. |

not bad... looks very.. very similar to the Helix Stepped core design. And the piping looks top notch. I don't think you can go wrong with this.

Hmmm... that looks kind of similar
Unfortunately that intercooler looks like it has a lot less of a frontal area than ours. This intercooler also doesnt have the plates bullnosed inside and out. Its a nice try though |

Hi,
After seeing how big the Wagner intercooler is, I have now decided to re-sell it because I really have no need for such a big intercooler. I didn't imagine the stepped core intercoolers are so big...my mistake. The price is extremely attractive ! The selling thread is here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=452215 (the usernames are different because I can no longer post on this forum section with my old username - apparently I have upset some site sponsors...) So, if anyone in Europe is interested...first-come, first served |

New info...I have decided to install the intercooler (tomorrow ! ). My main concern was the weight, but there are so many people with the Helix (which weights 3+ pounds more) that I don't think it will be a problem.
I asked Wagner about pressure drop data and they said it is 0.3psi They did not specify the pressure at which the drop was measured. But I looked carefully at the external and internal fin packs and it's about ideal: the external fins are louvered (cooling) while the internal fins are straight (low pressure drop). The small intercoolers can't have straight internal fins because they would not cool properly, but for a large intercooler like this internal straight fins are ideal. |

Unfortunately, a prospective buyer just appeared on Friday and I held up on the intercooler install until I finished the negotiation...which didn't finalize and I was left with a stock intercooler on my week-end drag racing event I hope I will install it this week though.

Wagner Tuning Intercoolers craftmanship is superb. Why dont you go through the official website and try to get a "reduced price quote" ?

That's actually where I started, but their website is f***ed up atm, so whenever I tried to register, the whole page looked like crap and it kept on insisting that I put in a zip code, which I had done every time. I simply gave up after 5-6 attempts and found it new as wel as cheaper on e-bay. Then the merchant inside me had to try to get a further bargain.....
