Ahh, nice lens. I played with that one and the 24-70 f/2.8 L the other day, and I like the 2.8 better. Noticeably faster lens, but unfortunately a bit heavier.

Btw, forgot to congratulate your team on the Rose bowl... you guys earned it this year. I hope you kick TCU's ass.

Haha, thanks man. I do too but I'm still going to be cautious, they've been good. I just don't think they've faced many teams with a combined weight of over 1500lbs on the O line ya know? They have the skills for sure but it could end up coming down to us just being a bigger more physical team. Should be a good game though (and of course it happens the year I leave right?)

Yeah, I really think that'll be one of the best bowl games this year. I think both teams will "show up" and give us their best, since neither are regulars at the Rose.

Seth, your D-line isn't slim either
![]() Dave, I agree, there are some nice BCS matches this year. OSU v. Arkansas should be good, and same with the NC game of course.

![]() I know but I'm thinking we're gonna eat up so much clock running the ball they might only get 2-3 offensive series per half. |

I also came from a 1Dmk2 and held off on the 5Dmk2 for awhile. But since I switched, I've been lovin' it. The 5Dmk2's video quality is still the best in DSLR video.

P.S. I'm running a 5D with 24-70, it's pretty much always on my camera... Some days i do miss the image stabilizer, however, the noise filtering is so well done on this camera, the IS is barely needed. And IS does sometimes have a tenancy to make a lense lose quality when turned on. (so I've been told.) I wore this combination walking around New York last week, it did get a little tiring on the neck, so I swapped to my one shoulder strap and it made a world of difference, i barely noticed the camera hanging on. I have to say though, the lens that has gotten me the most candid shots of any is my 100-400mm you can just stand a hundred feet away and still be able to see the holes on the band of someones wrist watch clearly. |

I end up at horse jumping events often, with the FF body, i find the bigger zoom just comes in more handy and leaves me with more room to play as i'm standing close to some jumps and far from others. and again, it's allowed me to catch the holes on the buckles of a jumping horse from the opposite side of a ring. don't get me wrong, I like the 70-200, but that gap between the 24-70 and 100-400 is just too small to worry about covering in my opinion on a FF camera. On a crop body (witch i had before) that gap seemed a lot wider. Mind you, the size of the 70-200 is really hard to beat for what you get. And the internal zoom is really nice to have. Some people don't like the slider zoom style of the 100-400, so make sure to test one out before buying one if you are seriously looking for one. |
