Unless it's premeditated, no one challenges me either. Must be a Brooklyn thing.

To the OP, I understand your frustration because I drive in the city every day. But what I've learned is, if u see a DBag tryin to cut u off at a light by inching, or in the bus lane, wrong lane etc., best thing to do is just let him take off and hope he only kills HIMSELF instead of u trying to "put him in his place". U drive a nice car, I bet you would hate for something to go wrong and u end up smashing ur shit or one of those DBags to hit into u because u never know how good or bad the other person drives.
When somebody tailgates me, I move over, let them pass, and I'll go back to my lane. When somebody wants to cut me off, I'll just let them go ahead by slowing down, or if at a light just let them go. It's just not worth the aggravation to me OR if my $50k car that has about $8k invested in mods, get hit. And the fact that my fiancé may be in the car with me or somebody else, who am I to put THEIR life at risk. Just chill man try not to let these little things bother u.

That's funny I only have one encounter at a red light after 4 years of owning the 335. It was a SL500 and he had no chance and that was before I was fully modded. I don't know why I don't get antagonize more even though I wouldn't give it much thought and entertain them anyways, and it's not like my car sound really modded since my exhaust is quite TAME.

I don't get challenged much. When I do, it's usually NOT a worthy car lol. Perfect example, Saturday on the Whitestone Expwy heading to the Bronx, some kid in a new 4-Door Altima with 2 of his friends, pulls along side of me and looks at my car (while doing 50-60MPH) and then takes off, I don't pay him much mind and let him go flying down the Expwy (too many cars to play). Few mins later the highway was wide open so I push the car a little and somehow caught up to the kid again, and blew past him. I didn't go over 80. 10 mins later we are both at the toll heading into the Bronx. He pulls up in the cash lane next to me, we both have 1 car in front of us and he rolls his window down and says "let's see now, who's gonna go first??". So I repeat back to him "it don't matter, I'll catch up", and him and his friends laughed. He ended up leaving first, maybe a good 10 car lengths, I come out, take off SLOWLY (cops are obviously everywhere) and when I get far enough away from the toll I punch it and zip past his struggling Altima. Then I immediately slowed down and did speed limit and paid him no mind as he caught up and did a ricer flyby...
I normally DON'T bother with obvious FAIL-cars. But I had just got my car back from installing my new 666 intake and putting my JB3 on map 5. So I just wanted to see how the car ran anyway lol. The dudes who usually ARE worthy (EVO,STi,Porsche) usually just give me thumbsup or some type of respect and we cruise spirited together but never really try to actually race each other, which I think is even more fun anyway.

Already had too many tickets in the past few years, plus sadly some of those douchebag hondas and whatnot will actually walk on my n52 in a straight line

To Op,
This is definitely an on going occurrence that happens everyday in nyc. Technically - you're the douche Bag. You could of prevented everything. Dont worry .....more then half of the people in the forum are douche bags as well. haha ( including myself) i know how you feel - owning a fast car, and letting people know you own a fast car |
