I will tell my 3yr old this... The iPad holder may not be for every one but it is what I want for our X5. It beats installing a dvd system and I can easily take it out. The factory system flips up and is in the way of the armrest and with active headrest you cant mount them in the headrest. The huge sunroof make it impossible to hang. Bottom line best option for familys.

Well it's March and the new iPad2 is now out but I have not heard anything new on the iPad BMW mount. I would think it would work with the new version. Anybody heard anything?

The cradle doesn't require any workshop fitting, but a parts advisor will be happy to help you install it.
Option 6VC refers to Combox, which must be installed in the car for the video playback function to work. Combox began to be introduced into E92 and E93 models from March 2010, and requires the installation of Bluetooth Phone Preparation+telematics (633) and a Navigation System. In this case, when specifying options, for full functionality select Professional Navigation. |

The iPad Holder just arrived at the dealership.
E90post forum price is Ł116.29 including vat (RRP Ł137). This includes the base system to which all other seat attached accessories can also be mounted. I haven't had a chance to test out all the functions yet. |

Anneka, this is all great stuff.
If there's an internal feedback route you could take, please can you feedback that it would be nice if all the functions of the iphone actually worked like they do with other smart phones too? I'm thinking reading text messages out and e-mails etc. I know they've started giving access to the calendar recently which is a great advance. Thanks for giving us the heads up on all this. |

BMW Connected Drive is ever evolving and for newer vehicles with option 6NR (Mobile Application Preparation), developments are being made every few months with the iTunes downloadable app allowing you to get even more out of your iPhone. The latest development along with the introduction of Calendar display was text to speech function for Twitter, Facebook and Calendar. The last available App update was made available on the iTunes store on August 5th. I haven't heard any news yet about email to speech, however I expect that this will also become an available function. I am not sure if plans are in place to attempt full iPhone integration via snap in cradles, although I am assuming a greater level of functionality will be made available when the iPhone station and accompanying BMW Application are finally launched. It has been released as people have had it fitted weeks ago, however the UK language version of the Link software only came out last week, and now they have run out of stations, 50 have been sent to the UK but they are on hold at the moment.
And Germany are now out of stock themselves. |

I can't beleive that BMW can take so long to bring a product to market, call me sceptical but I think that they're waiting to run down their own stocks of the Garmin Branded unit (hence the national offer currently on) before they sell the iPhone Station as like others I'm sure people would have the iPhone Station over the Garmin (assuming one already has an iPhone).
Come on BMW extract the digit and let us have what we want, teasing us with releasing the App has just made the wait worse.................... |

Was doing a quick search on the iphone station as I need to buy a new Garmin or TomTom and thought this may be a better option, but not sure if I read it had been pulled from the UK market.
Also will it fit a 2007 E91 without factory fit bluetooth? All help appreciated. Merv |
