Put my Dual Cone intakes on today and saw oil temps jump VERY FAST, not sure if it's due to me giving it more gas or due to the intakes.

Heatsoak & Open Intakes suck as the DCI's are oftenly linked

Yeahh... I just love the sounds, but hate the heatsoak I was thinking since its so cold outside it won't be as bad. But the temps ride 10x the rate the used to, it might be attributed to switching to map 5 and giving a bit more throttle as well, but the intakes definitely seemed to make a big impact.

Those Valves are are there mainly for soundproofing control in most European Manufacturers (Strict European sound regulations).
For the BMW specifically it reduces the effects of low frequency sound(drone), while improving the torque characteristics at low RPMs.
Alot of aftermarket exhaust companies have similar Valves in their exhaust systems to reduce drone and this is a quote from the 3D DESIGN exhaust about their Butterfly valve for the N54 powered s35I:
So does this mean that if I unplug the actuator, I'll lose low-end torque?? (I have N55 and PROcede) I really hope not.

I'm just hoping that the N55 doesn't have a different reaction to unplugging the actuator than the N54. Before I had the tune, I did this mod and my butt dyno felt a significant loss of low-end torque

Well, the rule with "more free" aftermarket performance exhausts is benefits in higher RPM range but unplugging the valve isnt much of a difference, and if it did it would be in the 2000 rpm zone
