There is a reason I couldn't find a BMW dealership that would CPO these cars. I was looking at one very similar to that one a few weeks ago. It had less miles and was an 08. They were asking 41k out the door. I have talked to a few people about the maintenance costs and they are through the roof. The only way I would buy one of these vehicles is new, with the full maintenance package. Then I'd dump it after the warranty was up.

Just out of curiosity, how much is the aftermarket warranty ? The tranny on those is notorious for taking a dump.

The E60 have a history of water leaks from the sunroof (drain clogs on heavy rains) bmw recognizes the problem (per my service guy and the manager at the dealership) but wont do a a recall on it since drains are the owners responsibility. Check the roof liner for light stains as well as the back passenger flooring. Water tends to come in from the right side and gather under the carpet in the back seat. To replace the sunroof, all seals, floor carpeting and electronics under the passenger seat is very pricey if they get water damaged and the water tends to come back. Go on the e60 forum and do some research. I had a 2006 E60 Ac Schnitzer and had nothing but problems with the sunroof leaking (not covered under warrantee). After replacing the sunroof, seals and idrive twice due to the water damage I decided to sell the car and buy the 335.

SMG transmission can be switched into an auto mode by pressing a button. English enough for you?
