Come on guys, give the guy a break.

They will fit fine.

Now they will wear out after a few miles so i would suggest driving at night so the fireworks coming off your BARE RIMS will be most entertaining to the cars honking at you and performing "anger passes" because you are driving so slow.

But these would be minor inconveniences for anybody with a 3 series considering 22" wheels.

those look huge for 20's! its probably the spokes. mesh wheels usually look smaller because of the shorter spokes.

20's should be kept for pieced rims(flat and step lips) and mesh wheels.
19's for longer spoked wheels and most monoblocks.

if you wanna be big baller, go with 21's at the largest. Pieced 21' wheels with step lips.

I think you should be driving an impala sorry no offense. 20's are more than fine for shows in a 3er.

As many have stated, with correct alignment, size, tyres, ride height and offset it might be possible but I would prepare to do some bodywork as well to be on the safe side.

Can you give us more details? Perhaps have you seen a e90 with 22" before, I can imagine it though, I've seen 22" on a lexus IS250 showcar.

What wheel/tire/suspension combo were you thinking of doing? Might make more sense to others if you provide more details? Some of us would be interested in the final result!

Anyways good luck for now! Btw the M3 running 21" would have rubbing issues running the tire/wheel combo...

Oh and lastly, 22x10 will not fit in the rear the best you can hope for is either 8.5 or 9 inch max! unless you ride on air suspension =P

i have 20s 8.5 and 10 in the rear. on sport suspension i am looking at only being able to drop MAYBE around an inch in the front and .8 in the rear (e92 coupe, fenders rolled). but any 3 series i doubt will be able to sport 22 especially at those widths.

What is everyone so all bent out of shape about - he said it's for shows, not for driving!

OP - I'm sure it can be done with some work, money, and creativity. That said, unless you make some very significant and costly modifications to your car, I don't think you'll really be able to drive it on those other than very short distances (like a few feet) and only in a straight line - i.e. only to move the car a bit if you need to.

My advice is to start looking at the wheels and tires you'd like and then carefully take all the required measurements - height, width, offset, etc. and then start taking some measurements on the car so you can figure out where you need to make adjustments. I'm thinking you may need to fabricate faux fender liners to fit them and perhaps a few other similar modifications, but I'm sure it can be done with the right skills and money. Best of luck and post some pics when you figure it out. I think it sounds like a lot of fun.

And to everyone else who gave him a hard time about it, stop reading selectively, will you!? The guy said he knows it's not practical and that it's just for shows and he wants help on how to do it, not if he should do it. You guys make it so tough to get help on here with responses like that. I think it's fine to give you're opinion, but not when it's out of context. Maybe he's getting ready for the "Small Cars on Big Wheels" car show...

Found this on my computer(Longtranīs maybe?). I think it is 21" on a m3, so 22" should fit your non M e90

...if you skip the tires

22" on an E90. A sight for sore eye.

Here is the deal. You have to put rubber bands on for tires. I believe the maximum diameter is around 25.8 without rolling. With rolling you are pushing the max at 26.2

If you run 20 series side wall you may be able to squeeze them in there.

I am curious as to what wheel you are buying in 22" can you share a photo?

Bottom line I would not recommend it. 20" is as far as it will go. But it is your funeral so have at it if you wish!!!
