Well I am interested in the turbo upgrade, but there has been so much speculation about dates and what not I have seemingly disregarded most discussions. If this thread is heading in a good direction then I apologize for my arrant comments. Good luck finding out about the upgrades. The only complaint about meth kits is the methanol drying on the nozzle located in the charge pipe, but I don't see how HPF could solve that problem, being that the systems are relatively basic in structure. I believe anything from HPF is quality so I wouldn't second guess buying a couple products from them. Good luck.

Only time will tell, but from what research I have done, I actually think the opposite. I have called practically every aftermarket company...(HP Autowerks, Turner, AA, HPF, JB, UUC, Stett...etc the list goes on and on) the n54, n55, e82..etc seems to be one of the most avid markets currently. More and more parts for these cars are going on back order...theres a reason for that. There are sooo many more parts to manufacture with these cars, fueling, turbo/turbos, intake mani, internals, BETTER INTAKE, oil coolers, BETTER CLUTCHES, BETTER METH KITS, the list goes on. There is A LOT to improve upon. I think that the n54 is the start of MANY more turbo cars for BMW and I think that the n54 will be the benchmark/starting point to improve upon for many high performance BMW'S to come...

LOL. It's obvious, but not sure why you have the conviction that HPF is the very top company, or the most 'trustworthy' company that is making parts for our cars. There are many other great companies that make top quality parts.

EDIT : maybe I'm wrong and maybe it's just me but I would never spend money on mods just like 0oh I got paid let me go buy an exhaust for 2000 lol there's so much other shit to waste on, I spend money on parts only when I feel like I got a little bonus I can fuck around and buy something but I guess some people work to mod their cars IDK
Some just make more than others sir. Some have the privilege to blow money away in general.

No they are going to piece together a kit specifically for the n54, taking their single turbo kit in mind. They want it to handle power down the line while still being street driveable.

As far as the meth kits are concerned, they want to come up with a kit that is more reliable in terms of failsafe's to be specific. I believe they will be addressing a new/reconfigured nozzle for optimal atomization. Similar to their kit for the e46. From what I understand, they like to take the best features from the existing kits and modify them to up to HPF's standards which as you know are top of the line. Its all generally going to be the same, but for example, the CM has great nozzles, not so great tank design/functionality. From what they told me, none of the current kits are Great as a whole. They want to make a kit that encompasses the best features of all of the current kits. I hope I explained what you were asking, as I said, I dont know a whole lot. As I find out more info. I will be sure to post accordingly

This is all fine and dandy, but what I want to know is where the hell is the N54 charge pipe that HPF teased us with back in April of last year? It was supposed to connect seamlessly with their intercooler.

Since they now offer their intercooler with two different styles of connectors, I have been postponing my intercooler purchase in the hopes that I will be able to get an intercooler and charge pipe from them that will connect properly.

Would you be so kind to find out what's the deal with the charge pipe kit?

I've asked them recently and they said 6 months since I'm looking for one also

If you gave them a call and spoke with them about their customer service and wealth of knowledge in the BMW world, Im quite positive you would come up with the same conclusion. I have had a chance to speak with the owner and a few of their employees and they seem to be some of the most educated guys in the business. They are very polite to speak with and they always put the customer first. I feel that this is an attribute that is very important when spending this kind of money on such an amazing machine. I know of instances where their parts have failed/broken and were replaced for free. They have a warranty second to none. Their past success and their aspirations to break records and consistently produce some of the fastest and reliable cars in the world is very fascinating to me. Its not for everyone, but I have yet to see another BMW(which is the brand I will drive for the rest of my life) perform quite like their stage 4 m3. To produce numbers that beat cars that cost north of 200k is amazing for the price. Look at this performance...

I hope people chime in and they get every ounce of info they could possibly need from this thread and others down the line so they can stop feeding us the ridiculous R&D line. Some things just really don't require much, especially a straight piped exhaust! lol

Yup, I will ask about that too. I do agree with you, they take their time, but rarely do you see HPF come out with a revision of products. There is good reason for this, they not only do R&D, they do long term testing to fine tune their products so problems dont arise down the road. They do it right the first time! Which is exactly the way I like to things. Even if I have to wait and pay more, in the long run, im more happy this way.

That is only very foolish, I know friends that have dug themselves such a big whole they will be in debt for the next 20+ years bc of this. Its scares the hell out of me. Its kind of crazy but I dont even own a credit card. I don't believe in it(the theory anyway). I believe you should be able to lend money for large purchases, i.e. your house, car..etc. but impulse buying with a credit card can be very detrimental to how you will spend the rest of your life(in debt). I believe in working hard for what you want and paying it off IN FULL at the time of the purchase! I know not all of have the means with which to do so, but I think our economy would be a lot better off if more people practiced their spending habits in a similar fashion to the way I do it.

As I have said before, they have tested a couple diff. versions. One with mufflers, one without. they are the first to put the jig on an exhaust, do you think they just magically were like...hmm this needs a jig lets try it out? no, they saw the need to one and they changed their design accordingly. If you have followed them through the process as I have you would better understand the actual R&D that went into this exhaust.
