cksv,

It depend on what options you want. rear cam? front cam? Video on your Navi? I think the basic module is around $600 and he will install it for you for free. That is why I'm going to take a road trip down to SF area after my car comes in.

Just fournd out today my father's car production will be completed on 1/26/11 (in paint shop). Do you think his car will be on the 1/29 ship?

Mine has "no confirmed production date yet", .

We ordered the cars on the same date.

I don't know. Seems like a long shot though because it has to hop on the train before arriving at the port. Then once at the port there may be other vehicles ahead of us. I'm hoping that I make the 29th too. We'll see soon enough.

My dealer just e-mailed me back:

Chris,

Quit doing my job ;-)

Your VIN is XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

I am not told the boat name until it's actually on the boat.

Production should be completed on the 26th. There's no way of knowing if your 335is will make the Don Juan but there should not be a problem of it getting on the Maersk Wind.

If it's on the Maersk, your ETA will be March 17th, with a very good chance of it being ready a day or two sooner for you.

I'll check on the 29th to see if it made the Don Juan.

Sara

Haha I haven't met her yet. Did the entire deal over e-mail but she does sound/come off rather tasty. I'll find out when I meet her face to face in a couple months .

Mine finished production last Friday 01/21 and has been been on the "waiting for the carrier" status since then. I will let all you guys know when my status changes and hopefully you can gauge what status all of yours are.

I just ordered my 335d today and received a production number. Do you guys remember that day? Probably seams like a long time ago. I am thinking end of April before I see it..comments?

Off topic, but I am curious. Anyone know what an internet sales manager at a BMW dealer makes in a year? cskv could pick up a new bmw and a fun date in one motion

UPDATE: One week since production has been completed and the 800# still says ""waiting for the carrier". I don't think I'll be making it on the Don Juan. I think we will all be on the Maersk Wind together. Kinda sucks for me, that means it would take 3 weeks from the time my car completed production to getting on a ship?! How about all the cars in front of it that have been produced that are either waiting at the port of exit or are being transported to the port of exit?!

The MAERSK WIND is really close to Bremerhaven and is on the schedule to arrive today. Seems a bit early for a sail date of February 12th. Perhaps it will be leaving a little early?

Is there a way to know what boat your car will be on other than checking with your CA? I don't want to bother the guy.

My dad car is awaiting shipment while my car is not scheduled for production yet. Same order date...sucky...

I'm hoping the 528 will be on the Don Juan but is doubtful. My father will get his car by early March then.

Just called the 800#

My 335is is in the Body Shop with a completion of 01/31!

Guess its to late to change any options

I assume this means there is at least three weeks until it hits the East coast? From there two or three days to get it to the dealer. So we're talking the end of Feb basically.

Not sure, must be above 100k but depends on the timeframe.

I saw some sales figures at one dealer which I think was for the week. They sold $1mil with a mix of new, cpo, loaners, used, etc. Their new car sales bonus was basically 10% and it appeared that they had bonuses on other than new cars as well. So $350k in new sales their total bonus pool was $34k.

So I think they make at least $90-$130k. Usually the sales manager makes all the money. Probably $125 base and $40-80+k bonus.

http://modmynav.com/camera.html eh? I'd love to see this in action! I doubt the mod would be as good as the stock Infinti (lines change as you turn wheel to show where you will end up) - but for $160 why not..

I too came from a G(35 Sedan - 07). Which dealer did you buy from? I didn't like any of the folks I spoke with at Stevens Creek or Mountain View so I ended up going with Steve Thomas in SoCal.

I'm not from the SF area. I'm in Seattle. Got my G from Beaverton, OR. None of the WA dealerships (2) wanted to negotiate. They have Canadians buyers who is more than happy to pay MSRP for the G.
