Thanks Paul. Damn, that looks good! I'm going to be all over my CA to see if I can change my order to Lemon.

No problem. Loads more pix of GregL's AW/Lemon e90 here. One last attempt to persuade you to go black

I'd settle for just the lemon. I love the three-tone effect!

Lemon Interiors

My car is Montego Blue with Lemon interiors.

What the dealer told me it is a special edition available just for a couple of months.

Lol, it's not just me that doesn't like white cars, it's the entire continent of Europe I guess it's because white is such a base colour; it looks as if you can't be bothered to choose a colour, you just go with white (I admit you could say the same about black...). Also, most utility trucks, ambulances and police cars are white over here, so it doesn't look good on a sports sedan. I have never seen a white e90 in person.

Generally speaking, whether we're talking cars, home decoration or clothing, Europeans prefer bold contrast over approximate coordination, so white on lemon with grey (aluminium) trim just doesn't look right to us.

But hey, it takes all sorts

That makes sense. I chose white last time as one of the three colors (Silver, Arctic, White) and got the white. First time buying a white car, but I have to say that I really like it. Very easy to keep clean and it has a "luster" to it that others don't. Maybe to me it's like B&W photography... without the color you have to pay attention to the lines, curves, and shape.

But don't worry, I wouldn't get aluminum trim regardless of color combo.

Hardest decision I made was going with the Lemon interior but well worth it. It is beautiful in person, pictures don't do it justice but here's a couple anyway.

After 2 months I will report that it will take extra maintainence to keep it clean, but I knew that already. I have not done anything yet, but the entry side of the drivers seat is starting to get dirty looking. Waiting for it to get a little warmer before I clean/condition the leather.

Well, here's hoping that it is still a choice, and that my car is not too close to production for the change! Maybe they had over-stocked on Lemon and weren't getting the orders they forcast? Hopefully my CA is working today and I'll know something later.

I can imagine! I'm willing to take a chance just on the photos I've seen, and I think it would be so unique here in the U.S. I don't mind the maintenance, and have cleaned and conditioned my beige a couple of times already.

Just curious - do you notice the seat getting very visibly dirty, like from wearing jeans, etc?

I have found the best maintenance to be preventitive, i.e. not waiting until you see the first signes of dirt. Dark jeans are not really to be recommended and leather trousers/jackets are definitely out, especially with heated seats, which kind of fuse the grubby oils in the clothing on to the seat.

I use Mer cleaner and conditioner about once every ten days and have had no problems at all: my seats are as clean now as they were a year ago. The same could not be said of the beige interior I had on my e39: that was terrible to keep clean, much worse than the lemon.

Fingers are crossed!

I just talked to my CA, and he said my car is still 112 status and he can make the change. As long as the system lets him select the option for it, I asked him to change my interior to Lemon with Poplar.... hoping for a confirmation later today!

I salute your courage, you won't be disappointed. Lemon/poplar is what I have and I've had nothing but admiration from friends & family since I got the car a year ago. It's exactly the same car as a silver on black leather 330d, but it just stands out so much more and compensates the relatively aggressive exterior (xenons, spacers, Blacklines...) to give a sporty, yet classy appearance all in one, a bit like an Aston Martin or Bentley. Hmm, better stop now before I get carried away...

I agree, and I think it's partly down to the stupid name they gave it!

Thanks Paul for the great shots to remind me how nice Lemon looks. And thanks many times to E90Toad for bringing to my attention that it might even be available in the U.S. Aw shucks, thanks to E90Post - or I would have been clueless altogether!

I can only judge by the photos I've seen, but I agree with what Paul has said. I think the lemon leather is at once sporty and aggressive and sophisticated and elegant! The poplar light wood to add an element of interest within the otherwise all black dash is the perfect touch. Burl Walnut in an all black dash would be just too dark I think and not pop out. Aluminum is just not for me with any combination. I love the three-toned look, especially in the doors. It makes the door panel look smaller and more sporty.

Now that I have myself all worked into a lather over the lemon, it would suck if my CA tells me I can't get it.

Lemon looks so nice; but I agree that it's best with a dark exterior.

I would never get it myself (at least not on my daily driver), I'd be too paranoid that the leather would turn grey from dirt.

I thought your CA was a woman? (above post). I like the white with lemon and its going to look good. Only think I would have done was go with the dark poplar.

Jade gray is not an option for the US. The lemon in only available in the sedan and wagon so you will not find pictures of it with gray poplar because gray poplar wood is only available on the coupe on convert.

Good job you made your mind up before this thread was moved to a section where nobody is going to see it!

Let us know if you get the go-ahead on the change to lemon.
