If we take the Audi scene as a reference, not sure that's possible w/o a BT upgrade

400HP definitely not possible without a big turbo from a 2 liter. The VAG 2.0T won't even give you 300HP from just a tune on pump gas. That said, the article is claiming 245HP from the factory so odds are BMW is using a somewhat larger turbo than other 2 liter turbo fours (or running very high boost, which is less likely). If that's the case 300+ HP might be possible with just a tune.

That seems unrealistic - that would be 200 whp/liter - the equivient of the N54 putting our 600 whp - just dont see it.

I would think 150 whp/liter is about where you would end up on the street. Seems like big turbo n54 tunes are in that range

400whp isn't much for a 4-cylinder by any means much like 600whp isn't much for a 6.

From what I see on the forums, as I've been lurking and decided to finally join, is that no one has really built this platform. No one has really built a head or bottom end for that matter and everyone for the most part sticks with stock turbos for various reasons. Some are upgrading to modded stock turbos, yes. I do however foresee fueling being the issue.

Yes, I am looking to get a 335i and am not a troll.

I'm more curious as to what HPFP they'll be using on the 2.0L.

+1 on 150hp/liter

That is the typical performance for a tuned, full bolt on stock turbo car.

~300hp for a 2.0T (Audi/VW)
~450hp for a 3.0T (BMW)

All depends on the turbo sizing really. Evos can make more than 300hp on 2 liters for example.

Yes, on a stock turbo I can see that being the limit. I would certainly hope that turbo upgrades would be easier to fit on the 4 cylinder than on the N54/55.

I've personally helped put a stock turbo Evo 8 up to 385/395 on a notoriously low reading mustang dyno. It was on 93 and meth with bolt-ons and weak HKS 264 cams. Our shops 05 STi only put down 205 bone stock.

True story. About a month ago I went grocery shopping with my wives A3 2.0t, Which has the GIAC tune, Anyways an E92 328i decides to pick on me. I didn't want to race this dude, I had my car full of groceries and the last thing wanted was broken eggs or broken beer bottles because of a silly race. Anyways I said F@#* it and we went at from a red light. Well the out come was surprising, I got him by almost a full car length. So If BMW wants to ditch a N/A V6 for a 4 Cylinder Turbo more power to them. I think it would be great move. More tuners will see the BMW market is growing and more competition equals competitive prices.
