The thing is, once fitted, the wheels are superb! They look great and fit the car spot on. I love em and can't wait to get mine back on once spring comes.

Yes, Paul. We decided to hold Jimmy's wheels just for the fun of it

I would hope that from the last group buy, they learned that communication is key. I didnt mind that wait, it was the lack of updates, constant chasing and lack of replies to PM's that really pissed me off.
I`m glad to hear that! Any pics?

The first set had rears with big dents in the rim due to the fact that the poorly packed pallet had collapsed and fallen over. Other members received damaged rears also.

I had to pay the carriage only on the replacements but they arrived with damaged paint finish due to sticky tape being stick to the hyper black coating/paint finish.

The third set of rears were supplied foc and were all ok!

I love the wheels but didn't enjoy the hassle and arguaments during the purchase.

I didn't say that did I Matt?

Just stated a fact. Whatever the issues were, hopefully measures have been put in place to stop the same happening again?

I also praised the wheels and like jimmy, would buy them again.

These could be a possible option - available on ebay from BMAutosport. Myself and other forum members have dealt with Mark there, he is a top bloke and is very helpful with excellent customer service....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-19-M3-CSL-...item53e5b9f64a

At less than £600 a set they are a good price and won't need any spacers.I am sure if you rang him and spoke to him, you would get a discount for dealing direct and saving his ebay/paypal fees

I agree and I`m very happy you like them and that everything is resolved but I don't think is necessary to bring everything back every time the words alufelgen, UK and groupbuy are in the same sentence? I feel you should take the positive side of it instead of mentioning only the negative one. I think this sounds a lot better: "At the end of the day we bought an amazing wheel for a lot less than the market price ($200-$300), paid pennies for shipping, refused to pay for insurance and after the wheels got damaged during transit alufelgen stepped up and sent free wheels as replacements even though insurance didn't cover it and it was out of their scope. That's a stand up company". That sounds a lot better.

Are you considering doing a set of wheels for the E70 X5, if you don't already?

I was thinking of these for my 335i. I just thought with them being replicas there may be more chance of them cracking that the 225M's that I have currently.

I would say the complete opposite - I have run replica wheels on a lot of my cars and never had any issues with cracking.

It was the 225M's that were faulty - hence why BMW now don't supply them anymore.

Is that correct? What happens if I need some new 225M's? The reps from BMautosport dont show a deeper rear where as the originals have a bit more depth in the middle of the wheel.

Which reps? 225M reps or the CSL reps?

They are definitely staggered (ie: wider rears) - the best thing to do is call them, Mark is a really nice guy and very knowledgable. I have had a couple of sets of wheels off him now and by far the best customer service I have received when buying alloys!

As for the 225M's - they are probably available as spares from BMW but you can no longer spec them as a factory fitted option on M sport models like you could before. I had them on my E93 'vert and had no problems but they were not actually on the car for long before I fitted some M6 reps

I have emailed Mark, who, as you say is extremly helpful. I think one of my rear alloys is cracked so I keep pumping it up every other night as the tyre is loosing pressure. I was worried about buying another alloy and then this also cracking. Mark explained that his wouldn't crack as long as I put non run flat tyres on. Because of this I am going to wait till the tyres are shot as they have done 8k miles. Then I will probably get a full set of replicas for around £600. I love the 225's but Mark explained 'the 225M reps from BMautosport dont show a deeper rear where as the originals have a bit more depth in the middle of the wheel'. So I presume if I changed one it would look a little daft as they aren't exactly the same.

Also I like the little M badge on the 225's that the replicas don't seem to have.

I can't find any photos of the replicas on a E92 as I can't picture in my head what Mark means about showing a deeper rear where as the originals have a bit more depth in the middle of the wheel'.
