My E92 went thru hell and back with tuner codes, broken tabs and missing screws etc and ran 3 tunes on it... I never had any problems with it for warranty work as long as i cleared the codes via BT cable and removed the tune. Its been in for injectors, misfire, coils, HPFP, regular service, plugs and other diagnostic reasons.
Congratulations, You're so hard....but that didn't answer the question.

The truth is, they CAN be found...but will they? Probably not. Dealers half ass and don't care about digging to the root. If they send your DME to BMW, they WILL find it.

thank you..... all you have to do is ask a tech or foreman. BMW loves for you to ship defective parts to them so they can be analyzed. I have never had a tuner code come up in conversation with my SA. I told my SA that I had mods and wanted to talk to a tech before I let them near my car. I think they appreciated the direct approach at first. Once they messed up something, they immediately went to the, but you have mods defense, and they must be causing the problem. It came back to bite me for sure. The tune was never really an issue though... it was those kittyless dps that were kinda hard to hide. The fact that I was breaking the law made it hard to argue.

Relax and take a breath...Its a forum...
Show me proof this has happened to you! I been through all this BS about warranty and etc. You got no codes, no physical evidence? My car was even in an accident and spent 2months at the dealer doing ECU updates and getting things replaced and looked at from BMW. I have no way of knowing if it was sent to BMW the DME, but back and foruth of going to BMW for 3.5 years running SSTT and JBH's JB3;s etc... Im sure it was looked at. And i have thrown tuner codes, multiple times and been to the dealer. If anyone was gonna get there warranty deny it was gonna be me..

this is really on a dealer by dealer bais some dealers are so shady with there parent company that they could replace a whole engine for excessive carbon build up when the problem was a blown head under warranty

Completely untrue, before BMW pays for larger engine defects (hell even HPFP replacements) BMW wants to see proof that the part is in need of replacement. I know someone who is going through a turbo replacement right now and before BMW would approve the replacements they requested the dealership remove and test the turbos for failure before they would warranty any work.

wow what a long thread for this. Just remove, clear codes, and dont worry because I use to run a JB3 when when my HPFP failed. All I did was erase all codes expect for the one for the HPFP and the SA replaced my HPFP and gave me a 100k mile warrenty. Now I'm running a JB4. Just dont worry and use a BT scan tool.

Where is the proof of this? It just a bunch of meaningless words without some sort of evidence.
