Just to clarify, its more than just eliminates throttle lags, I've had it since September, was on Map 3 which yes redued throttle lag to zero, but the transmission shifting and timing in handling the re-mapped throttle response makes it very "un-bmw" like in the way it shifts...and thus not what I was lookin for. Now I am on Map 7 which is 0% in throttle response change, but 100% activated Tune.
There is a very noticeable difference...especially given that Mine is a de-tuned version of the 325i (323i 2.5L I6 with stage 3 manifold etc etc).. where the original software suck balls.

One can install it themselves, would help to have a competent assistant and possibly even video the removal sequence so you can reverse it to put the bits back together again. Many have installed the unit themselves, taking a few hours to install. Southern BM is close to my home and I was not about to fiddle with my car myself. Great price for a really great piggyback unit that does its job as advertised. Those who criticise do not have the Powerbox installed in their car and/or misunderstand what it's about. Their loss. Cheers

I introduced the Powerbox to Andrew. He was not aware of its existence back then. It had just been released. Yes, I purchased it from Mike @ N54 Tuning in the USA. It was delivered within a few days. I agree, it is not a tune, rather a piggyback to the ECU and gives it the kick it has always been wanting. Throttle response is so much quicker than stock. The car really gets up and jumps off the starting line (read traffic lights turning green). It makes the drive with more urgency if you need it to. I have the auto and in DS mode, it really takes off. It's great for me.

At least you found a map that suits you. It seems that perhaps the 323i tune reacts differently to the PBX, than the 325 tune. Cheers

Probably
![]() Still, it was a repeatable improvement (we did about a dozen runs) I installed mine myself, it's an absolute piece of cake. Even going slowly and carefully and triple-checking everything, I think it only took 20-30 minutes... |

I've got a powerbox I bought from Mike at n54 last November. I never got the time to install it and then went and traded in the 330i for a 530d so it's now surplus. PM me if you're interested.

I've got a Powerbox for sale too, used in a 125i where it chopped half a second off my 0-100 times! As new:
![]() $200 + postage. Only took me an hour to uninstall - advantage of being able to DIY I guess (as opposed to a reflash) If buyer is in Sydney I might be able to help install it too. Selling because of impending car change. edit: sold to bmwaddiction Last edited by chylld; 03-09-2011 at 05:37 PM.. |

I reckon the 125i guys should pull the trigger on the digitec tune. If you've got the balls to send your ECU overseas that is. |

i personally can't justify sending the ECU overseas for it; it would be money well spent, but i'm not dying for it ![]() the performance exhaust on a 125i is much louder than you'd think! i got some launch videos when we were testing the digitec, will try to remember to upload them |

FAR OUT... bought a powerbox for a friend's 530i and turns out it's an M54 engine, not N52 ><... therefore won't work. Only figured this out when I was deep in the ECU thinking to myself WTF these wiring diagrams don't make sense.
If someone wants to buy my brand new never installed PBX I'll sell it for $300, price I paid, but in the meantime I'll also see if I can return it. |
