I read somewhere else on here today that a guy got a 2011 335i with DCT as a loaner, or something. Let me see if I can find it..

Maybe it was only available in 2010 when they still had the N54? I want to say it was available in 2009 as well ... probably just extremely rare

You can get the 135 with DCT. I don't think any 3s except the M get it, at least in North America.

As of 2011 the paddle shifters in steptronic cars got changed so they match the DCT style + on one and - on the other. I just picked my msport 335d on Monday and it has the new style on them. I believe sport package has the same change as well. Not sure when the change was made though. My friend's 2010 335d has the old style paddles.

Btw 335is in the US also has the DCT as an option.

Nah man, couldn't have been. It was never an option. I would have known LOL.

Yeah I know the is has it, but the guy in the link I posted above ^^^^^ said he got a 2011 335i sedan loaner with it; I thought he was mistaken, because as far as I was concerned they never offered DCT for standard 335i's.

But I understand what you mean, I don't see the reasoning behind changing the shifting style if it is not actually a DCT. Unless they just wanted the Steptronic guys to feel cool as if they had DCT, too.

I will soon resemble that remark.
I would have added DCT if it was an option for my 335d. Seems to me it would be perfect for this car.
