I took mine to my dealer, Northcliff Auto in December before my holiday trip. They fixed the problem but its now back and more annoying than before. The rattles they fixed are back too. REALLY NOT IMPRESSED after spending 360K.

noise

I got two kinds of noise. One that's coming from the driver's door/pillar B. This is always present. Another is a squeaking noise that happened once. I thought it came from under the front passenger's seat. Very loud and pissed me off. I think I'm gonna have the pillar B noise removed since there's a TSB on it.

I got my car early last June- it has about 5,000 miles on it.
Also, one thing I did was reach up under and into the seat and tried to move the foam around on the metal surfaces / springs. That seemed to help a little, and the squeeking eventually went away.

Well no luck fixing it myself, so it is in the shop Wednesday to look at the seatbelt tick and the seats. I rang BMW and said that my seats sound 'like a whore's bed and it is driving me crazy."

He seemed to get the message...

I have the same problem. It's been to the shop 3x's and still no fix.

I got a loaded 330xi and paid 48k US. I am impressed at times while driving, but overall, this car is a pain in the ass.

- Pot holes which never affected my 323 have cost me 3 yes 3 new runflats and 1 rim.
-Idrive unit blanks out and has yet to be fixed.
-Car revs when starting from a stopped position and takes 3 seconds to move.
-seats rattle
-Logic system is marginal at best. 1 speaker already replaced.
-BT ,please, goodluck with that.

I have had this car for 3 months 5000 miles and would handed it back to them if i could. It has been it the shop 5x's. Never again..all in all 50k for this..@#$% me!

We used to have a 1999 VW passat with leather seats which squeaked, and when I took it to the dealer, they ordered a whole new seat without too much fuss. (and there was a AIR BAG in the seat, so you know it wasn't cheap!) I would push them to replace the seat- tell them it is unbearable to drive, and threaten to leave it there until they fix it.

Picked it up to day and they told me they replaced a seat latch, I have the cold weather package, and drove a way..BS not fixed..so I am going to drive it back to the dealer and leave it there...I mean it and tell them I want a new car...They did the software update because sirius was making a crackling noise and now the whole system is fried..I so want this car to win me back...but I look at it now with ...well...regret.

Got mine looked at. No seatbelt tick, and seats are now silent... BMW service guy couldn't stop laughing at my 'whore's bed' comment though

I have to say thanks to this forum though, I printed off the SIB on the seat belt tick... BMW Australia claimed they hadn't heard of the problem. My service guy took the SIB printout and followed it, and voila, fixed car!

Jamie, do you know how they resolved the squeaky seat problem?

Mine is starting to rear its ugly head again, and it's driving me nutz!

I've not heard a squeak, but if someone could take a pic of the part that needs attention, it would help so much lol

I think they just lubricated the underside of the seat. I caught it squeaking yesterday, but that was going over a bad bump on the highway... I hope the problem doesn't come back like it has for you.

I feel your pain, when it was squeaking all the time I was going out of my mind... esp as the rest of the car is so composed.

You have seriously had to replace 3 tires and a rim in 5000 miles! That concerns me quite a lot.

I have had a squeaking drivers seat for the last few months. It is driving me crazy. I have sport seats with electric adjust.

I have had it back to the workshop couple of times now and they have lubricated and tightened various things. It has quitened down a bit but is still there!!

This problem is not on, I am going to demand a new seat. BMW Australia can pay for it.

I found that spraying the squeaky part is only temporary.

Another easier method I found is to put the seat through all the maximum range of motions ie. max up/down/tilt forward/back/slide forward/back. Helps keep it quiet for at least for a few weeks.
