I agree. Shiv has said that the BMW ECU can take advantage of up to 93 octane without a special map. The additional octane allows the ECU to change the timing without causing knocking. However, if the car is only programmed to use up to 93 octane, 100 octane will have little effect.

I am not saying 100 octane won't help other cars. Their ECUs might have more aggressive maps that allow them to take advantage of the higher octane. They may be relying upon the knock sensor to pull timing based on the fuel. Just because some other car benefited from 100 octane means nothing to the 335. Unless you have tested a 335 on a dyno with 93 octane and 100 octane, you can't say for certain.

I am simply saying that based on Shiv's comments the 335 won't benefit much from gas above 93 octane, unless you are using the PROcede and load a 100 octane map.

"Race gas" can come in many different forms...
100 octance from a Sonoco pump won't hurt your car, it will hurt your wallet though. However a fuel such as C16 is a different story. C16 is a leaded fuel which tends to foul O2 sensors.
