Re11s are good, but from what I heard after a few laps they slip a lot, and they wear out like crazy!
The best tire for street/occasional track use are ps2s because not only do they grip in cold and wet, but they last long! I cant wait for these damn rft to wear out so that I can get some |

I'm running 265/35/18 rears and 235/40/18 fronts with Continental DW, but honestly I hate how the front tires look beefier than the rear tires!
The 235/40/18 is 2.5mm taller than the 265/35/18 tire, but it looks soo much meatier.. So I think I'm going to switch to 275/35/18 rear which would make the rear 5mm taller than the front 235/40/18. I know I know, bah bah understeer! Don't really care, don't track my car, don't go carving canyons either.

Coming from star specs, every tire has shit lateral traction compared to them.

I put 13k miles on mine and they're still sitting in my friends garage with half of the tread remaining. I must drive like a grandma

They're a value summer tire. Nice ride quality and low road noise but suck for traction.

Just a suggestion when selecting front and rear tire sizes: Try to keep the stagger minimal. The wider your rear tires are than the front, the more your car will understeer. I ended up running 255 front, and 265 rear and it works very well

Michelin just came out with a pilot sport super sport that is shooting to be the next standard in ultimate performance tires. If it delivers half of what there promising it should be pretty awesome

I have the Bridgstone Pole Positions non-rfts. I went 1 size up on the stock 230 rims. Went to these when I ran my RFTs into the threads (1 blew at 140km/h). I got these on BEFORE I did the Dinan Stage 3 suspension and the M3 control arms.
Before Stage 3, the grip the tires had was tremendous. Launch off the line was way better and still is. BUT, without the needed camber of the M3 wishbones and camber plates, I found the front tires to roll over and I lost a lot of cornering power as it scrubbed away at the side wall. NOW after stage 3 and all the camber, I have the tire performing perfectly and the front end has sooo much bite. I have a little bit of understeer at the absolute limit, but that is ok. When I get my rear Dinan sway on, with the Wavetrac LSD and subframe bushings at the same time. I hope to have a near perfect balance. As it is now, with these tires, I have terrific wet traction and handling, really good dry - to the point I don't want to go any faster around corners - and risk wrecking the car. I can't wait to get the rear end done and feel the difference. Anyway, long story short, I recommend the Pole Positions. Now, with the Procede, FMIC, DPs and Ultra 94 octane on map 2... I can let first and second go with little traction control intervention... and that is in the cold. The tires are fairly new (1/2 season on them).

Hancraps are the worst tire known to man. I almost feel bad for you.

I went to Tire Rack to compare the Pole Position against:
NOTE: I couldn't select a PS2 for 265/30/19 comparison or super sport... Advan Neova Conti DW Asymetric Pzero Pole Position IF we can use the tire rack results as a guide (and as Clap pointed out - this may be flawed to start with) Advan has best dry handling, steering response, grip - not so good in the wet, and comfort and won't last as long My Pole Position did pretty well all round - and this is what I experience the DW bested the pole position - except for steering response, and cornering stability (which is why I selected the Pole Position instead) the Asymetric, trailed all except for wet performance Pzero performed a bit less than the Advan, better than the Pole and DW, but was a ton more money. Straight performance - dry - Avan, bit more cash, wears out handling - pole, over DW - but this maybe marginal. PS2 and super sports are going to be lots more cash. The best deal is probably the DWs. I would like to compare the Super sports against the Advan and pole

My nitto nt05's are at the wear bars with less than 8k miles. I don't drive hard and don't have any track time. Traction is still a problem with 275/30/19 on the rear. Never had anything else to compare.
