If you don't go over 50mph and go crazyb around corners...u'll be ok...

pump up before you leave!....don't think u'll lose a lot of air pressure ....

be very careful when cornering tho....

I nearly lost it at a mini roundabout once... as i didn't get any tyre puncture warning and my rear tyre had a nail in it and when i checked, the pressure was down to 15psi....

the rear will be very unstable.....if you push it...

Duly noted mate.

I will take it easy and keep my cornering speeds down. I should be leaving fairly soon...

I'm sure it will be OK. I've know people to drive around for weeks with a screw in their tyres. As long as it didn't go flat very quickly you'll be fine.

I made it guys

The tyre held pressure just fine (in fact, was higher when I got home, due to heat I imagine).

Will post back with pics in a bit.

Thanks for the tips....

Thanks Carlito!

Here's a picture of the bastard! I'm guessing that with it being so close to the "shoulder" it will be unrepairable...

Fuck me. Didn't realise it was there. Deffo wouldn't repair it
and in all honesty it's too close to the sidewall for repair anyhow!

Least it's holding air, so is useable if desperate before changing.

Thought about going "Non" yet?!

Tell me about it! It's a pretty big mofo too!!

Going to order a full set of FK452s on Monday. Thought about going for some Contis but at under £500 for a full-set of the Falkens and the good reviews people give them (both on here and a chap at work who runs them on his E46 330Ci) I figured I would rather pocket the difference!

Once I go non-RFT I guess a few cans of Holt's Tyre Weld and a a 12V compressor will be all I need for day to day stuff (I have a space saver for longer journeys/Euro-trips)?

Fuck me - that's a big old screw. Don't get supplied with washers too often!

After your first posts, I'd have said drive with it - having seen the pictures, I'm not so sure.

Make sure you get the 4x4 size tyreweld...

Indeed!

Quick question, I just spoke to Camskill about new tyres and when I gave him the sizes he immediately asked about what car they were going on etc. When I said BMW he asked if it was currently on run-flats.

I told the chap yes and he started off by saying I need permission from insurance (already sorted) but went on to say that from 2012 tyres and the TPMS are going to form part of the MOT test and if your TPMS is not working or you have non-run-flats fitted to a car that was supplied OEM with run-flats it would be an MOT fail.

W.T.F. ??? Is there any truth to this and are there any MOT testers here who can confirm or deny?

Sounds like bollox to me - how will they tell if the TPMS system is working? Deflate a tyre and drive it around?
