I've had all the JB tunes from Jb1 - JB4 since about 5k miles. I'm now at 45k miles and have had no issues... Not even a HPFP. Just oil changes and new plugs at about 43k miles.

I waited until after my warranty expired to get tuned and I have nothing but regret for not doing it earlier! Since being tuned I have had 1 HPFP replaced, but that covered under the extended warranty so there were no issue. I am sitting around 53k miles now, and maybe have been tuned for about 1k miles. Go for it

Yes it's my DD and I've put at least 15k miles/yr on it. No real issues...

That doesnt seem very encouraging, considering im in a similar boat. (56k miles, never tuned, looking at a JB4)

hmm any more info on this from other memebers would be great!

Thanks, Travis
Haha, nope, I should have clarified lol.

I purchased the car with 41k miles on it - immediately took it in for an oil change and they found the wastegate rattle and gave me 2 new turbos. Got the procede shortly thereafter and had misfire issues. The dealer replaced the HPFP, plugs, and injectors, and the problems all went away. Like others have said, the tune didn't cause the issues, but brought them to the surface quicker than stock.

I absolutly LOVE the car with a tune. It mandatory to get some sort of tune in my opinion.

So those with DP...what do u do with those when u take your car in for service? If u take the procede/JB/cobbs out then wont these throw a code? Also, do u guys take most of the parts off like dci/chargepipe/meth or do the dealers not say anything with them on?

I waited till my warranty was almost up before putting on dp's, fmic, exhaust, dci, etc.

When I had the giac stg 1 tune only, i switched the map back to "stock like" and the dealer never said a word, even flashed over it a couple times.

I have read people take off thier mods, i'm afraid some dealers seem to be more sensitive than others when it comes to mods.

Almost 80k miles now. Tuned since 200 miles. Running 15-20psi for as long as I can remember. All testing miles which is much harder than what normal cars see. The only thing mechanically that is ailing is the turbos. Still makes great power but the wastegates have loosened and need to be re-adjusted. Currently running a boost control gain of 60% to compensate. I think it's time for a turbo upgrade soon

51,000 KMs had JB since 200km and had the rest FBO done (no meth or N2O) by 5,000KM. I drive it almost every day all year round, plus took it to 1/4 mile last summer 5 times with 10-15 runs each time. Do oil changes every 12,000km and spark plugs every 20,000kms have NOT had any issues. Car has been solid, knock on the wood three times.

Bringing it to the dealership tomorrow for regular maintance, and HPFP/ Injectors replacement as part of BMW re-call.
