I decided to drive on just the rims since I didn't want to wear out the tires. Tires are expensive these days. I can't afford to put new tires every 1.5 to 2 years so I'll use them very cautiously.

Do you think this will scratch, dent, crack my rims?

Yes, don't take a break when slowing down, use the brakes instead. But why down shift as well !
