That is not how it works..I spoke to ESS they said I have to send em the ECU b/c they dont have installers in NY..The loader you are talking about switches between maps AFTER the car is reflashed. I have the flashloader for GIAC..it should really be called a map switcher cause flashloader is a misnomer.
The way it works w GIAC and generally most reflashes is the installer connects to OBDI port w a computer and hooks a battery tender to the car to keep voltage steady and then the ECU is read and reflashed..but u need access to the tuners server etc..which is what the installers usually have. |

ESS offers these options too.
It's a fairly stout remap and ridiculously smooth. My buddy had this in his N54 135i before he traded it in. Felt excellent even compared to my Procede V5. Roman and the ESS guys are awesome folks as well. Good product. |

How is it working? do you have stage1 or stage2? was it easy to install or do you need to be skilled in computer/car?

The tune is great, very smooth while cruising and when you wot. I currently have the stage 2. It was very easy to install. all you do is install the software that comes with the loader, they send you the file via e-mail, you load the map to the loader, connect to your obd2 port. Select the file you want, and select load. This process takes a lot of battery so they recommend you use a battery stabilizer when loading maps. Loading the map usually takes about 10-15 minutes.
