WOW!!! i changed 13 tires on my last 335 in a drop over a year and a half. nothing yet on this car, but NYC roads are horrendous, especially after they use these cheap nitrate based cleaners to clean/erode the roads. thats a lot of damage though. wow

I feel your pain, I had to do a site visit in yonkers yesterday. To get there I took the tapenzee, to get home I took the GWB. Fuck my life, no damage but it was more intense than any autox I was on. There was once section of 95 where there was a 4 foot 6-8inch deep cut out right smack in the middle of the lanes. If i had to drive in that bs daily, I would simply move to a different state. I got home and check out all 4 wheels and tires. Luckly no damage as I didnt hit anything huge.

I avoid the city like the plauge, if i have to go and its not work related I take my girls 328 which has wheel and tire insurance

I can drive the FDR blind!!!!
Hahaha yeah I take the FDR every day to and from work. From the 3rd ave bridge all the way to 23rd street exit. I never hit anything. I know all the bumps/sewer caps

I do once in a while. I just like the fact that a homeless person isn't stinking up my car and nobody is holding my car door open while I'm at a red light

make sure to check the inside of the wheel facing the wheel well. i find some bubbles and tears there too. Hard to see if you just do a "walk around"

I noticed they tore up grand street on the way to the Williamsburg bridge. Maybe it'll get finished in the next 6 months!

Still no work done on the actual bridge though

I usually take 1st Ave uptown and 2nd Ave downtown because I know they're fairly smooth

Cross Island/Grand Central pkwy are the worst roads in the history of man kind. Even the main road in Astoria (the road under the elevated rail road tracks) is so fucking bad. I have to drive my sisters IS250 whenever I go to work because my 335 doesn't have the wheel/tire insurance..

UNLESS I'm on the Garden State, the Turnpike or the West Side highway, I do 40-50 at the most and have at least 4 car lengths of space in front of me (fuck YOU if you are behind me honking for me to move up).

Hope everything works out for you Jon335i.

I keep hitting the worst pothole on the FDR, Northbound, middle lane somewhere between the 50-70s. No visual damage at the moment

Sucks that happened but if your wheels aren't insured I don't know if the DOT will even care
That's what I'm doing right now. 50-60 on the highway. This is my first time owning nice rims so I'm gonna be tight if I fuck em up. Especially if it was my own stupidity.

That suck ass, sorry to hear about it. NY roads suck big time. I drive 60-70 on highways up here and that's when I have a lot of room around me. Way way way too many potholes. I390S isn't too bad for a while, same with route 100, but there is a 6 mile stretch or so about halfway through the state that is like railroad tracks.

I love driving my BMW but I also hate driving my BMW at the same time. Every time you go out you roll the dice . . .

Sucks to hear that man but the DOT REALLY needs to do something ASAP about this before a SERIOUS or fatal outcome could happen from this. I had a somewhat same experience out in philly when i was in my GTI , i had smacked a pothole or MISSING FUKIN piece of road going around a bend which caused 2 airbags to blow , destroyed rim, blown tire, broken control, blown out strut, etc.. The problem of this was that once this happened my car had shut off, and the steering wheel locked up and i was headed towards a parked car ,luckily fast reaction , i got my car back in the on position to steer my vehicle away from smashing a parked car . But ya could of been a bad accident non the less.

What happens if a truck smacks that shit and goes out of control ya know, wish states would really see roads being very important and stop ignoring them.

This is why when I drive my car on the weekends I usually end up in NJ even though I live in Brooklyn. Its the only time i get to enjoy my car because the roads around me I am shittin bricks going 40-50mph. Sometimes i don't mind traffic so i don't have to worry about nailing something big.

From what i've heard the entire Van Wyck is bad. I haven't driven on it at all this year because of all the crap i keep hearing about it.

I'm usually on the belt and as of last week the middle lane is safe all the way from the verrazano out to the southern state pkwy. Just have to drive slow going over those stupid draw bridges.

U sure it's not Southbound?? Because I know there's a HUGE sunken sewer cap around there that will destroy your rims if u hit it, right before u go into the nicely paved tunnel that goes up and turns a little and then down... I'm gonna check for what your talkin about today on my way home. Right lane northbound FTW, except for a big hole I discovered earlier this week, but I didn't hit it, forgot where it was too exactly, but I'm aware of it.

that works, but what i really meant was how some guys go through the process over and over, dealing with blowouts, being stranded, needing to get towed, taking time to get everything fixed, guess its part of the game.
