Old metallic films had an effect on AM radio, GPS, radar, and CA; newer ones (premium films) shouldn't. I have 100% metallic tint, and have had no issues with my hardwired radar, CA, or GPS.

Picus, can you confirm that AM reception is fine? In my old 328i (and this may just be the old metallic tint) after I got my tint, I lost the ability to tune ANY AM radio station, which put a real damper on listening to local sports games. I don't want to repeat that mistake, so I have been looking at ceramic films, but it's a lot harder to find a good tinter who works with ceramic tints.

If you can tune AM, I'll just start looking around for the best tinter and use whatever premium (metallic/ceramic) tint they have.

Ceramic is more difficult with e92's because it is thicker, too.

My AM reception is fine. I only ever listen to one AM station (AM 740), but the reception did not change after tinting.

I too just had metallic tint installed and didn't notice anything different with CA, GPS, cellular. But forgot to try AM. I did express my concerns to the installers and they said they do cars all the time now with there tint, many with CA and have not had any problems. So I think its a lot better now.
