Looking forward to your DIY. Thanks for taking the time and effort to help us have an reasonably priced BOV solution. The BOV sound is not for everyone but usually when you hear it in person and it sounds awesome!!

I live in Fairfax, VA so DC is not very far for me. I do not have my 335i yet, probably around June timeframe but I am already planning my mods. BOV is definitely something that I am looking into but the current ones out are pretty damn expensive. I use to have a B5 S4, the bi-turbo V6 model with quite a few mods. I did have upgraded diverter valves but there was no good BOV solution for the S4. I believe the S4's setup did not allow for a BOV. Let me know when you make some progress and I would definitely like to check it out. I'll bring my buddy. He's got a turbo'd S2k with a BOV that sounds nice and loud, fast as shit too. I also enjoy working on cars so I can try to help out if need be.

^^ Oh ok, that's makes sence. So we could use the the "Regular" kit (no blow off valve provided), if we wanted to use like say a Greddy Type S Blow off valve right?

I would just get the Ultimate Racing BOV kit, i did and it works perfect and sounds great!! I get compliments all day everyday on my car and how it sounds. Now i heard someone mention about the screw in the SSQV can someone elaborate on that. I guess i want to know how do you adjust and how do you know when it is adjusted to where you want it to be?

Type of BOV
I understand there are 2 types of BOVs, one where you need to choose the right spring and the other called the "trigger" type.
Who makes the presumably better "trigger" type?

Also my car is at home and i am at work so when i get there tonight ill take some pics of the BOV installed. The hardest part of installing these things is learning the trick of how to remove the diverter valve hoses, tricky little clamps. Ill explain when i post the pics. |

here are the pics. the thing is when you do it you have to take the intake apart from the kidney grilles and also remove the airbox, it pops off with rubber plugs. the clamps on the stock diverters are new to me, you have to use a towel or some gloves and you need to turn the grey tabs they only go one way to open. It was hard on mine. after that its pretty easy and it comes with instructions.
