That is with all mods in my sig. Chassis and reliability mods are the most important for tracking once you start to be a better driver. I would put reliability at the top of that.

I would say wheels and tires then the oil cooler and distilled water with MOCOOL. I know it's not what most people think but as you get faster you ask more of your car and the weakest link is the cooling. Without reliability you can't do lap after lap to practice the techniques that make you faster than any other mod.

Just for reference I went 2:00 flat at Infineon with just wheels and tires and swaybars. I was stunted at hat point because the car's lack of cooling started to limit the amount of consecutive laps/practice I could do.

I am just like you in that I discovered the track through this car so I don't have a history of driving or knowing how to drive.

Just my 2 cents.

I just updated my signature for reference. Think sways and maybe subframe bushings should be next. Maybe I'll keep an eye out for used track wheels/tires. As for cooling, I was amazed that I didn't hit limp mode. It seems water+ww made a huge difference. Let's see how it does at Thunderhill where it will likely be hotter.

BTW, I first got into HPDE with my previous car, SLK55. That thing was unbalanced in corners but it's brakes and ability to blast out of corners was awesome. Sorta miss that instant v8 power.

FYI, I don't think he subscribed to any threads. Might be easier to PM him.

I saw you mention needing camber plates to run those wheels. I don't have them but am willing to still try them using the various spacers to see if it will clear. If you wanna give it a go, let me know. I travel between Modesto, Lincoln and the bay area. So, I'm sure we can meet up sometime.

I don't think they'll fit. You need at least -1.5 camber and the struts/coilovers being run can be an issue too. Let me check with APEX on this.

Cool, thx for the tip, I'll try it out. I'm on 2.0.1 beta (2007).
