you guys are willing to kill the bird just because of its the harmless splatter? either stick it out until you can park your car in the garage or use a car cover..

My idea of the paintball gun will just cripple the birds to teach them a lesson not to shit on his car... or best way is just get a outdoor car cover if ever you are forced to park outside....

I've installed a plastic owl for a friend and it's been working well for over a year now. If you do this, make sure to mount it solidly on a flat, horizontal surface and not hang it from something, it has to look real.

Or you could try to find the nest and relocate it, if the tree is low enough.

I have this problem, along with cats sleeping on top of my car. I have no garage. It's amazing how the cats don't stop the birds, though...

I have a MASSIVE bird phobia and even moreso for dead ones, but I say shoot them if the plastic owl doesn't work.

Hell, I can't even get a plastic owl because it scares me. -_-

On the boat we use this thing called a Gullsweep. they are fantastic and simple. You can buy them in a Marine Supply store.

it sits anchored w a small sandbag and has a small bar that has a little flag on each end and it drifts slowly around. they work like a charm on the boat. and sometimes our boat is left for a week at a time. this stopped all bird issues. most people in the marina use them now too. they are pretty low profile, weve never had one tip over, or blow over/off.

you could put on on your roof and the hood. would prob keep cats away too.

I'd suggest you talk it out with the bird first before you start a war. Let him know he's disrespecting you with his shit and maybe he'll listen

theres more on their web site
its like a weighted bean bag with a small rotating bar on top of it with little flags on each end. it spins very slowly in high and very light breezes. it physically keeps birds and other animals away.

weve never had a problem with the one we keep on the boat and it works.

Those suggesting a paintball gun, how are you supposed to shoot the bird without nailing your car? Paintballs leave huge dents at a close enough range to even have a prayer of hitting the thing. Also anyone who has ever tried to shoot a bird with a paintball knows that it's hard as hell, even with an electronic marker and a quality barrel. You'll have a VERY difficult time with a walmart gun so that's a waste of time and money. I've played speedball for seven years, trust me.

Why don't folks complain when animals pee on their cars?

A neighbor's cat has determined that my car, regardless of whether it's in or outside the garage (if the garage door happens to be open as it is during the day on the weekends when I do yard work and whatnot), is his territory and s/he marks it accordingly. I don't often see the wetness, but my nose tells me the cat's been there. It's particularly frustrating if s/he does it soon after I've washed the car. And it's embarrassing if I have a non-family member in the car when the stench arises.

I have a 12 foot stone wall surrounding my property, but cats, like squirrels are good climbers and I can't do much about the trees s/he uses to get to the top of the wall. That really a moot point, for even if he doesn't climb over the wall, he can walk through the front gate anyway.
check this out ... you need this option for your car....

Are you parking under a tree? If so, put a rubber snake on the branch where the bird usually sits.
