It's worked really well.
Amazing, got to get myself one of those gopro cameras with a suction cup for the next trip to a track

Pressure being relieved. That's the sound of a full catless exhaust and the mic was right by the exhaust tip.

LOL, I completely missed that too, even though you said it in your first reply. It was obviously faster than the RX8 looking at the video, but I actually thought it was a 530 the way you overtook him..

Imagine the look on his face Probably even more fun than the bewildered Audi S6 owner I overtook doing 170+ mph on the autobahn on my way back from the Nurburgring. Those moments are precious

@Mr.5: Cool video! Must've been loads of fun driving there. Real tracks are so much more fun than the 1/4 mile, at least in my book.

You should really pay the Nürburgring a visit, maybe rent a car for some laps. I'm sure you'd have a blast.

Yes, the Nürburgring (Nordschleife) is a very fast circuit where you never drive slower than 60/70 km/h. You therefore don't need second gear, it will only give you traction problems due to the high torque output. The only place where you are into 2nd gear is when you start a lap.

Great vid! Thanks for sharing it.

Are you using the GoPro cam or just the mount? Didn't think the GoPro had remote mic capability.

Normal scuffing with normal usage.

Nah, my next goal is to make it less than the 2:00 mark, but I think that the tires are holding me back. I don't have the downforce or the tires to make it to 160 before turn 1. I think Berk is making 155 before turn 1 and they have a car that is set up for that.

I'm using both. I opened up the gopro and tapped into the mic to add an external mic. I started a thread on it so you can search for it on here.
The sound is soo much better.

Well, I think I may have been slightly below that a couple of times when I came into the corner a little too fast, but then again you know the track much better than I do.... I should probably do like enrita and book you for some training lessons when I go back in the fall

Mr.5 it looks like you modified the hood with some intakes, how's that helping out with AIT and/or other temps while tracking?

It's not the tires as we ran below the 2:00 mark with stree tires and no aero our first time competing in Redline Time Attack in a street car. With aero you will not hit 160 on the front straights as the added drag will keep you from it, we found out after adding a wing. However, you will carry more speed through Nascar turn 1 with aero.

I'd love to see your definition of street tires and we.

we = J Tyler driving ?

So now you're comparing me with J Tyler? I'll take it.

I was just saying that I could have done it with better tires. That's all.
I'm sure other things as well like better driving skills and more balls but I'm completely fine with where I am with my daily driver.

Maybe its just me but I think if you used a bit more of the course diameter on some the corners your entry speed can be a bit higher and you'll exit a bit faster too.

I agree with you.
On a side note, I'm going to make a video with different camera angles.

We as in HP Autowerks, Inc.

Street tires as any DOT tire with tread wear 140 or higher.

I am only saying your car making a lot more power than we were should hit much higher top speed at the end of the straights.
